Why do you need to know my D.O.B to login to b.net?

I want to know why you need to know my date of birth to login to Battle.Net app on the desktop? Saying you need it for content purposes is not sufficient, and having it log me out when i decline to provide it - is frankly offensive.

You’ve managed without explicitly demanding it for so many years , so why now? Where are the updated Terms of Service that stipulate this?

Are you really holding me to ransom for access to my subscribed service, for a piece of personal data?

Pretty sure it’s illegal to deny access to paid for content based on users handing over personal information without any required reason. Not that Blizzard will give a stuff, they’re probably just working out how best to target vulnerable users.
