Instead of adding yet another set of ladders and boards and whatnot, you do add the option for people to create a non-multiplayer character, and the only consequence is that, should they rank on the boards, there will be a little symbol on their rank, indicative of their solo playstyle.
A little badge of honour for those who duke it out by themselves.
Here’s a little suggestion edited in; you could easily test this as a side feature in a D3 season, to see if people would appreceate or even use this.
