when is the season going to end?

You’ll know the same time as everyone else, i.e. when Blizzard announce it.
Having said that…

  1. We still have testing going on for Patch 2.6.10 on the PTR and last announcement was that they’d tell us on Monday, 19th (Pacific time zone) whether it would be continuing further
  2. Current seasons don’t end until weeks after the PTR is closed
  3. Blizzard have stated that they want more time between end of PTR and pushing the patch tested thereon to live
  4. Blizzard give around two weeks notice of a season ending
  5. Seasons always end on a Sunday
  6. Patches are applied to live servers on Tuesdays (US) / Wednesday (EU)

So, even if they announced that they’re closing the PTR today, that would probably put the earliest date for the end of the season to November 8th. In which case, the announcement would be Monday 26th October. There’s usually 10 days between end of current season, and start of next, so that means Patch 2.6.10 would be applied November 11th for a Season 22 start of Friday November 20th.

TL:DR = Wait for the announcement.
