I’ve found Mystics not doing anything to a boss. It’s an easy fix though - just move a bit. It’s not rocket science.
Yes some times their AI is problematic. If you can’t hit the rift guardian make sure to agro him away from a solid object like a wall or a tree. Sometimes in these cases something seems to affect how these clones work.
Thats a work around that cost time and still a bug
It’s an unusual dynamic. Sometimes you can go through a t16 rift and the fire allies kill everything without having to fire a shot. Sometimes they are on holiday picking flowers whilst vesalius bashes you
If they are like Firebird’s Mirror Images they have problems with rift guardians that are floating or hovering in the air. Vesalius is even worse as he disappears and and reappears many times.
It’s more of a general pet AI issue, not a Mystic Ally specific. All pets have issues with attacking enemies without some control from the player.
I’m finding those mirror duplicates need a lot of positioning to be of effect

The best pet AI is the WD arachyr spider, it will go chase enemies that sometimes is even off screen while the gargs takes a smoke brake when the RG appears or sometimes at elite packs or even thrash mobs.
For WD best way is to move through enemies so you are on oither side then pets will kill everything between you and them,
