What is up with the RNG in s18 and other gripes?

RNG is absolutely horrid this season (and for me, personally, has been worsening each season since s15).

HPS quiver - just under 21k blood shards gambled before she gave me One…

legendary item rate from Kadala - I was under the understanding that you had a 1 in 10 chance of getting legendary item from her each gamble. Then why I am consistently spending 16 odd gambles worth of blood shards over 100+ GRs and getting no legendary items from her? Something is NOT right. Kadala dramatically worsened after s14.

upgrading gems - just had 4 attempts to upgrade a lgem @ 90%, 3 of which failed. And of course, the attempt at 80% failed…if I do an empowered run (5 attempts, no deaths) @ 60%, I typically get 1 or 2 successes and 3 failures and this is based on over tens of thousands of GRs. That is most certainly NOT 60% chance.

s17/18 have featured tonnes of accursed/stinging wasps/fallen shaman/grotesques/succubi in GRs - this just isn’t varied, it is consistently 90% of all GRs. The same applies with maps - I am consistently getting banished realm/barracks/bone sewer maps, which all SUCK as every decent play will know. The number of elite packs that are arcane/horde/waller is truly amazing. For an impale s6 DH they are very difficult to deal with.

So, Blizzard…is the RNG seed created upon game install? Is it completely random on PS4? How do you explain consistent bad RNG rolls over a 3+ year period of constant game play?

It is very frustrating to play a game that just keeps screwing you over with worse RNG odds than stated, or what MOST players are experiencing. I cannot be consistently unlucky for 3+ years. I mean 21k blood shard gambles is 840 items. There are 12 or so quivers for the DH in the game…do the math…

You still have not addressed the nemesis bracers issue for DHs where they consistently spawn dervishes. These are insta death for impale DHs. I know some players will say just skip these packs, but this is an unacceptable answer. This issue pretty much ONLY affects impale DHs, no other character class, no other set based build. Every other character class/set build can use nemesis bracers and not worry about dervishes. The same applies to dervishes and sand dwellers that are not spawned from pylons - their reflect damage is just incredibly unbalanced. Skipping these packs is not an effective answer - it’s a cop out on your part in the game’s design.

Please, instead of adding new stuff that is crap, fix existing issues and bugs. There are massive issues on the console platforms, show us some love and spend some time and $$$ fixing the issues. You’ve made a crap load of money from this game with very minimal $ spent on fixing issues on the console platforms.

This is NOT rng!!! Its some #$%& with no sence at all.
Diablo 3 was make with trade\actionhouse. Then blizz, disable trade\actionhouse and give is this RNG $%&/($ system.

I’ve only played the Seasons since Season 16, but I can’t say I’ve noticed any difference in the randomness. Kabala can give you 5 legendary in a row at times.

yes, that is true, but I have had constant long strings without a legendary from her and it has worsened in s18 even more.

near 21k blood shards to get a HPS quiver? Come on…something isn’t right. Either I’m so unlucky that it’s mathematically impossible, or something is awry with the RNG, or RNG @ Kadala at least.

I got a HPS quiver within using at most 5k…

Theros - D3V had RNG too. Loot 2 is much improved over the original D3V loot filters, trust me on this. I had 2 legendary items drop over 6 months of constant play, and neither of them were for my character (WD) and both rolled absolutely dreadful (this is pre mystic era too btw).

The AH was useful to botters anyone who was legit was screwed. The RMAH was similar, but I strongly suspect that Blizzard had bots grabbing items and selling them on the RMAH to make more $$$$ from desperate players. Blizzard’s plan was simple - screw the player with crappy drop rates, force them to the AH/RMAH and make extra $$$$. They didn’t count on players leaving the game (like I did) en masse. D3V is probably the biggest game flop in the history of modern computer gaming - only a tiny % of players who bought it at release even play today. And most of us left, aren’t 100% happy.

You think the PC version of the game has issues…try the console version. It’s FAR worse with a long list of issues longer than the kessel run.

Wauw, if you think that, why would they stop it so quickly? Why are you even playing?

yes, that is normal RNG behaviour. I’m just seeing a lot of weird RNG behaviour (even more than usual) this season. shadow set gear is hardly dropping - for every shadow piece set that drops, I get 5x N6 or M6 drop (UE isn’t as rare as shadow, but not as common as N6 etc, somewhere in between).

I really wish Blizzard would not try and force players into particular sets/builds by tampering with the RNG drop rates, but let players have a choice and pick what they want, without impairment.

It’s just like with ancients - for example, pants. Non-ancients will typically roll dex/vit/AR a good portion of the time. Ancients? dex/vit yes, AR? No! it seems to roll anything BUT AR and it is much harder to get an ancient with AR than a non-ancient. I am not the first to notice pegged RNG in the game and I hate it. All items should have an equal chance of dropping, all stats should have an equal chance too. Pegging the RNG is akin to visiting a casino where they fix the rolls in their favour (which is illegal I might add).

Short term variances in personal drops doesn’t interpolate into Blizzard having tampered with the entire playerbase’s drop rates.

Take off your tin foil hat.

At least the RNG still works on PC.
Hope it evens out for you during the season…

I almost got the whole shadow set and I’m only paragon 200.

This sounds like a bad character roll/bad save a-la Castlevania SotN (where some weapons are softlocked because each enemy can only drop 2 items per save, but some can drop more than 2 kinds of items).

I base this on extensive playing in s15 onwards. Shadow set pieces have always dropped less frequently for me. That’s NOT a short term variance MB…

I am consistently noticing legendary items from Kadala are at > 20 rolls (should be 1 in 10 chance). The same with ancients.

I’ve had just 6 (six) Karlei points drop so far during s18 (p830ish). At least double that for LGFs. I’ve been getting more non DH gear drop (tonnes of it in fact) than shadow gear…I only play DH, shadow impale, I don’t care about any other set build.
