What I was told is that if this is real, someone internally is aware but they can’t do anything because it opens up a whole bunch of legal actions for every player and investor.
Basically the exploiters on the dev team, if that’s what’s happening, they arranged it so they can’t be openly caught or the company will be screwed too.
Just a rumor but from testing they say they can replicate a similar outcome to these random crashes if a background crypto miner is running.
This really would explain why Diablo 4 is the only game that’s literally destroying PC’s and has been since it launched. The extra strain a background hidden crypto miner could have on even the best PC is insane.
It could also be explained by poor coding but I honestly do believe some of these devs would do something as twisted as embed a hidden miner into the code to get rich off the backs of the player without caring about damage done.
Blizzard seems just morally bankrupt enough that they would incidentally create an environment where something like this could happen at the very least.
I’m ballparking if this is real and they’ve had crypto miners running in the background of all our PC’s they’ve probably made well over $50,000,000 usd over the last 2 years. At least.
