Diablo IV won't launch

Hello,

I can’t launch Diablo 4 (Other blizzard game still works) when i click on the “Play” button nothing happen (I got the loading icon on my mouse but nothing else) even after several minutes and my Windows doesn’t respond after that. I can’t CTRL+ALT+DEL or open any files/browser but my other app already launched are working. I need to hard reset my PC if i click on the play button, i have already check connexion issues, and repaired games files nothing change.

Exactly the same issue here.

i had the same issue.

i use BitDefender and found out that if you disable that, it will launch fine. bit of a pain and i hope they fix the conflict.

Bitdefender was the culprit, I deactivated all of the realtime, webprotections and so on and it launched.

Yeah thank you for your answer i have BitDefender too and after disabling the 3 protection options (i tried only the realtime at first) it worked and launched the game !

It’s not really a valid fix tho. I’ve contacted Bitdefender and see what they can do on their end.

Me and a brother had same issue. Both using Bitdefender. Even after exempting the directory it still caused us problems. We completely uninstalled Bitdefender, works fine. Bitdefenders newest update also stopped League of Legends from working as well.

Curious thing. Streamers had ZERO problems, playing non stop since the first minute of beta release.

i also saw Sacriel wait 1 hour to get in like the rest of us, so some streamers are getting hit with the queues too.

Go into This PC > Documents > Diablo IV > LocalPrefs and find the line DisableChromaEffects “0” and change it to DisableChromaEffects “1”

This is only for people with Razer software.

Yup, changing it from “0” to “1” fixed it. Was crashing at the logo screen at launch, tried restarting battle.net, and scan and repair, neither of which worked until I changed the DiableChromaEffects. Now it launches no problem.

Exactly the same issue. However, yesterday I played with no problems, everything worked perfectly. I haven’t installed any new programs/updates.
EDIT: Disabling Bitdefender antivirus and threat protection helped. You have to disable Advanced Threat Defense exactly (disabling only antivirus didn’t help). I’m using Razer software and haven’t changed anything with Chroma settings. Please, let know Bitdefender about the problem. It’s strange though, that I played for 2 days with Bitdefender on, with no problerms. And disabling antivirus is not a fix guys, so I hope @Blizzard will fix it.

I have 3 PCs, all of them use BitDefender, 2 PCs with win10 works perfectly without disable BD. But my newest PC with win11 have similarly issue.
My situation is when I click on the “Play” button and my Windows doesn’t respond after that, too. I can see Diablo4 exe running in background, I can’t open any files/browser but my other app already launched are working. Luckily, waiting after 5-7 mins game launched.
Still looking for solution.
