So you are saying because you have SO much choice, you struggle to play the game?
The mind boggles over the fan base of this game.
You know what you do? Whatever you feel like, it is not a competition, nobody watches you , nobody cares, do what you enjoy, dungeons, monster farms, whatever you want, all of those blips are somethign you can do.
You don’t need your hand holding by a youtuber to know what is the most efficient, play the game, do what you want… 
diablo 3 endgame gameplay was better
I play only two games at the moment. Fortnite and Diablo 4.
Both are literally designed the same.
In Fornite you drop in on some part of the world, gather gear and shoot people in the face. Repeat.
In Diablo 4 you jump into a game and trash monsters. Repeat.
Both have seasonal rewards that you have to grind.
I have a lvl 70 rogue and yes it’s pointless and I have no reason to go past lvl 80 (to open WT4 boss caches). But I will make an alt and also hopefully Blizzard drops something cool in seasons because I play mostly to get new cosmetics and I’m pretty happy about having a different focus than majority here as I don’t worry about nerfs and some skills being useless in endgame. I just play for fun.

Sidemissions some good some are not, but no real endgame content, its more bonus, but you do it once for the story then skip. i dont see always fun and different ? I see noway fun cuz no different.

You get a title and a mount exclusive to the fight, but it’s more about the achievement of beating an almost unbeatable challenge, locking a glyph behind a boss almost nobody can beat would be bad.
I do think she should give good repeated loot though, and she doesn’t.
An almost unbeatable challenge. The videos i saw where very challenging indeed, maybe go watch youtube about barb and necro killing her, then we are on the same page. Hardest thing to her is:
1.) overcoming the boring leveling from lvl 50 on ALL THE WAY to 100 (man this alone would justify 2 shakos imho, cuz its so boring)
2.) the right class because balance is not there.
3.) really survive the boring part from 80+ because IT REALLY IS THAAAT BAD
I gave up at 82, and i am an olympia winner, i survived 3 years in a hole without water, only with 2 sticks and a stone, and had more fun playing X and O vs myself for 8h a day for 3 years than playing d4 for nearly 3 weeks. imagine bro imagine.

Sadly my missus was too tired to play, and my best mate was MIA, so I am currently trying to complete every side quest. Just did the really cool one about the “three they come” trailer. I learnt a long time ago, to get the most value out of games, do all characters to a specific level or stage, then swap and get another one to the same level/stage, rinse and repeat. You get so much value.
I bet the majority of people moaning about “i beat endgame”, copied builds, followed guides, used cheats (exploits)…
Meanwhile, those of us who can play the game without hand-holding, are having huge fun figuring things out for ourselves!
Playing blind is the WAY. 
The end-game activities themselves are a lot better than f.e. the end-game activities in Diablo 2.
But yet, I have no motivation to log in and do any of them for more than 15-30mins before I want to log off and play another game.
However I have hundreds and hundreds of hours doing mephisto, pindleskin, cows… the pit, and still wanted “one more run” before I had to go to bed/work/other.
Why? I believe that’s the questions the developers should ask and find the answer to.
I saw the new patch notes of today. I see a lot of good changes, but none fix the big issue… why should I log in and do these end-game activities. It’s great that the xp rewards from NM dungeons and helltides were buffed… but to be honest… logging in to grind levels and xp doesn’t feel good. I know almost nobody who likes the xp grind in any game. I never leveled to 99 in D2, never cared, never saw the need, that wasn’t the point of the game for me. I think my highest D2 character was 93 or something. Same for D3, when I played a season, sometimes I could stick to it long enough to get to paragon 1000, that grind just felt bad.
Leveling and grinding xp is something I want to get done asap so I can get to the good stuff…
What is the good stuff? Where is the carrot?
IMO, the developers messed up the itemization.
It doesn’t feel good to do a NM dungeon, townportal with an inventory full of rares that I’m already 100% sure I’m going to vendor. But I have to go through the tedious process of checking each one of them just in case there’s a tiny tiny chance they have the affixes I’m looking for AND with better values than currently equipped.
It doesn’t feel good… at all.
You know what also doesn’t feel good… getting a nice drop that may not be as good as my current item for that slot, but it would be great for an alt…
But my alt can’t use it, because its level requirement is set to the level of the character who found it, so it’s useless to my alt and I have to vendor perfectly good items.
D2 had it right, as long as a character has the str/agi requirements, it could equip it.
You know what does feel good? Seeing a high rune drop. Seeing a unique drop that I know is BiS for my character… or an alt. You know what also feels good? ID-ing said unique and hope for godly rolls.
So, I agree that the engame itself is a smidge lackluster but I think the thing people keep forgetting and that Bliz has been telling us ( kinda quietly but still telling us ) is that they purposefully made it this way. They left room for all the casuals and peopel who dont have time to play competitively take their time to beat the game and maybe work on a bit of the end game as well. This did leave the rest of us who hopped on our horse, ignored the story, and ‘yee-haw’-ed our way straight to endgame material in an hour feeling a bit empty and restless but technically we were warned.
I do think they could have added more for the hardcore gamer but we can’t Flash our way through the game then get mad when we got to wait for more stuff.
There are a lot of problems with the game, some important to gameplay and some that only bother specific individuals but playing for 100 hours a week ( exaggerated except for those who actually did this ) then complaining that they wanted more seems silly (( silly!? it’s open world! there should be 1000 hours a week of content!))
I’m kinda in between. I want the hardcore, I want more endgame and to feel fulfilled with the game as I play, but I also paid attention to the fact that they kept saying that they were holding off on a lot of stuff for a bit so the slower ones can catch up. Sucks for the speed demons but that’s what it is.
And you mentioned wiping characters. Do you mean seasonal play…I admittedly haven’t paid attention to that. I am under the assumption that its gonna be two types of characters: Main character ( non-seasonal ) and Seasonal. I assume that when a season is done and moves to another season that your seasonal character becomes non-seasonal and joins your normal list of alts ( including adding your swag to the stash…which would suck in it’s current form from the lowest stash any game has ever produced )
But from the random complaints ( which have used no actual information, just complaining ) it sounds like every character is seasonal and once a season hits the previous character just disappears along with its stuff.
