This game feels more like D1 than any other I’ve played. I don’t agree that it looks like a mobile game. The graphics are too good for that.
The only thing I will never agree with the Devs on is that there are way too many movement-impairing effects, not enough movement speed, and way too much crap to dodge.
It doesnt feel like Diablo at all… Not sure how people can think it does. Theres so many reasons it lacks the Diablo-y feeling as you’ve put it, its like theyre trying to make a lostarc\wow with hints of Diablo.
Did you even play WoW oder LA?
Only MMO elements in DIV is that you can see other people (but really only a hand full), timed world bosses and random events in the open world.
Quests like “get me x amount of…” is nothing MMO specific, such fetch quest were imo even in D2.
As someone that played LA for a decent amount of time, the two are so far from another, I really dont get why people constantly bring that up.
In DIV I came up other people in the open world only a few times, and everyone was taking its own path. It wasnt distracting me or had impact on my gameplay.
In LA you are forced to do dungeons and end game content with other people, constantly running in very crowded areas etc.
Imo they nailed the feeling of a solitude world even with the shared world experience.
(Except for the town hubs)
I think it depend when you discovered the serie, because for many people it’s D3 that was definitely off brand ! D1 - D2 got very limited / dark palette. I think they should push more red saturation (and orange), because blood & hell. Flames and blood were always vibrant in Diablo.
I think the same! The game is not fun at the moment! I barely played a character at lvl 25 in the beta and then got fed up with Diablo IV. (I played Diablo 1, 2 and 3 at release and they were all way better!!!)
Well… I read this and I am really not sure if we played the same game this weekend.
Thank you, Blizzard, for sparing me the potion grind we know from D2
The graphics and perspective are awesome. You are aware that you can just zoom out by using your mousewheel?!
The animation of all the skills and their impact to foes and environment is simply georgeous
The skill system is fantastic since it bears a certain complexity and is still easy to learn und understand.
@Exhumed I have truly no idea what you mean. Imho Blizzard did quite a great job this time. Many important things large parts of the community criticised for years about former game versions has been considered and corrected, for example by finding a new approach to a decent state-of-the-art ingame gfx quality and cut scenes.
It does to me, the music pulled me in right away, it immediately put me back in D1 Catacombs. I feel strong but not over powered. Story wise it’s copy paste from D2 to my knowledge, cept we go west to chase the pale wanderer. Plenty of fights made me have to focus up and status ailments are not something to ignore. My HP is more steady and controlled unlike D3 where I get maybe one mistake fixed with HP pot. When I hit something it doesn’t explode every where including sending an axe to the moon.
I’m just having a vibe in this game and one part in my adventure made me scream audibly and run away. I won’t say what if people haven’t seen it, but Blizz got me good.
I think every Diablo is a new ARPG with new ideas. Every Diablo until now is very different from the last one. You might think D2 is very similar to D1 but… is it? You learn spells froms books and character`s class its only about stats limit.
So, in a sense… Not even one new Diablo since Diablo1 feels like Diabloy anymore.
Oh no! A Dungeon Cralwer is repetitive will be the next complain… i can feel it.
Would be really interesting to see you play the game. I also played sorc and I found the game to be too easy all the way from 1 to 25 on veteran.
Which skills did you use? Did you respec to try different skills / combinations? Sorc was really strong in this beta so there must be a reason it was hard for you.
I would really like to… even if it is just in town… walk around holding my helm. I really would have loved taking it off to laugh when the frozen head rolled down the hill (as honest and heroic as my character is).
You can’t be more right! What to expect from a company that is the shadow of itself since activision bought it all and got rid of all the genius dev that loved to create deep games for players!
They took off all the magic aspect of diablo serie, D3 vanilla was a big warning, diablo immortal a second one…
Quite interesting graphisms, good music for what i heard (when it was not laggy and buggy as hell constantly in places with others players…
No randomisation of the maps that is a big no for endgame farming, that will be soo boring… They don’t even try to hide it this time…
They completly do not understand the different characters specialities… see the mess done with teleport since D3… glass canon sorc need teleport to evade attacks, move fast, controll the mass, other characters for other purpose too
So what again?? we can attack ennemy on a uper place but not teleport because? no teleport over a wall or a door even if we see what’s on the other side… some invisible wall in and there to shorten the teleport distance…
Too much mmo stuff …
Looks like they will force people to play and when they decided;… (world boss…) instead of letting player deciding and preparing for it when they feel it right after completing the conditions(farm keys, organs…)
Who cares about playing with the world? Creating a game with password to play with a clan, friends, etc was better
OK: big plus: drops are not shared! but the sell is low in shops when you need money…
Potion for life/mana: another thing they are unable to understand… smell bad like D3…
gear for now is meh/okay… they are unable to think them properly like it was done for D2, but it’s actually better than D3 vanilla where everything was done to force people to stop farming but buy items for real
no pc optimisation: even big pc config faced lag, freeze even for music when it’s about streaming
For now the game looks quite boring and empty, and i don’t even dare to start farming… just trying to figure out what was that messy tree skill that looks like a poor FFX sphere skill one
Places and donjons looks always the same, even if the ennemies are differents inside, it’s not funny to imagine doing that hundreds, thousands time…
Still a queue for whatever reason?! with all the money they make they still put a restriction on servers
No offline? forced to play connected… even if i’m on trip (train, plane, etc…)
Still didn’t see anything relevant for endgame play that could catch and keep someone active… would we have to wait for an add on to correct and implement funny stuff… once again?
where is the synergie with skills ? looks like it’s again gear oriented
Ok for console players they lowered the number of skills usable but why? on pc we could get more to use!
Diablo 2 is an old game and even Diablo 2 resurrected is an old game remade with somewhat fresh coat of graphics but it still feels dated and old. I understand it’s a classic but I am ready to move on, not every Diablo game should be Diablo 2. People have way too much nostalgia that they want every Diablo game to be Diablo 2 clone. I really enjoyed Diablo 4 and can’t wait to experience the full game.
feels like i am back playing diablo 1 or 2 for the first time
this is more diablo then diablo 3 ever was, and i hate poe this feels nothing like poe
you need to understand that “old mechanics” from 20 years ago are not what players want to play, maybe you will but most players dont wanna do 100 baal runs in a row its horrible game design for 2023 xD
So instead of something like Baal runs we have mindnumbing dungeons which reward barely anything in a downgraded version of WoW?? How does it feel like D2 to you yhen? Because that was the entire endgame for D2 running Baal or Pindle runs endlessly except with D4 you get 20% of the skill options you can only use 5 of
Early game the stamina sucks used to keep stamina pots till about lvl 15-18 then you didn’t need them again,
I am on the other side of the coin on mana pots
I would much rather using a mana pot than the spender caster rubbish we have now
Why anyone wants to use a god awful skill just so they can actually attack something with the skill they really want to use is beyond me really
Main reason I used a sorc in D4 was if built correctly resource is not an issue as I hardly ever run out
But got a barb to about lvl 50 I won’t go any higher it’s rubbish got to build this little pot up with the square root of sod all so I can attack some this for 3 seconds then I have fill it back up again… nope hard pass
