Review: Diablo IV (Blizzard Entertainment)

As a dedicated min-max player, I don’t mind a good grind — but Diablo IV turns it into a full-time job. If you have an actual job, forget about completing all challenges or maxing out your character in a single season.

Be prepared to enter mega zombie mode, running the same dungeons and events over and over and over again… only to watch the materials you need never drop. Months of grinding won’t get you to the top — not because of skill or dedication, but because the RNG (Random Number Generation) system is completely FUBAR (Fugged Up Beyond All Recognition).

Blizzard claims it keeps things fair by making every drop random. In reality, it just ensures you’ll never fully experience what the game has to offer. Add to that boring, underwhelming boss fights, and you’ve got a game that punishes effort instead of rewarding it.

Verdict: Unless you enjoy endless repetition for minimal reward, do not buy.

Really???

:person_facepalming:

I have a job and finished all the challenges in the BP of S10, in lessa than 60 hours of gameplay…
And at snail pace…

Are you sure you’re playing D4???

Yeah, i gotta side with Ricacarv on this one, if you cant finish the season journey in 3 months, time is not the problem. It takes 2-3 hours to get to level 60, and another 2-3 hours to get to T3/T4 whatever you are most comfortable at early on. At this point, you are already half way there.

First of all, have you never played an arpg before? these games are grindy by nature, and D4 is nowhere near the worst offender in the genre, its quite generous.
Secondly, you realize you dont need to be “on the top” to complete the seasonal journey right? Even the toughest seasonal challenges only require a fraction of the potential power top builds offer.

What? You can experience everything the game has to offer, just by hitting level 60 and entering T1 difficulty.

In a single “session”, slight misspelling there. Everyone can make a mistake.

It is repetitive, the genre is like that.
I would like the fighting to be more refined and interesting. But it’s not terrible as is.

You cannot reach any peaks without total commitment and teamwork. It’s not something possible for any kind of normal player to achieve. But you can get the right greater affix for your super build. Especially up ahead when we can pick them out ourselves.
You have to manage your expectations, be realistic.

I think that most things can be explored, but perhaps not completely.
Sometimes I feel that it’s too far to test ideas I have.

I think that bosses has become much more interesting, but they only rarely drop anything of course. They still do though, so I’m not unhappy with how things are on this front.
