Holy moly… wtf… i thought that in between the seasons the character was not able to to the “ladder race” like D3…
But deleting the characters alltogheter ???
Can i see a blue post about this ??? im refunding immediatly if thats true. No way im going to play a character for 3 months and then seeing it deleted.
If you want to play in the season you need to make a new character. So your old character you wont be able to use. They’re not literally deleted. Theyre still there just you cant play any of the new content with them. They just sit there useless for the whole season
so lets say your main character is necro and you complete campaign and everything.
when season start you have to create a new character called seasonal character. start from level 1 again do new story missions ( not related to main story) level up again etc then after season ends all that is in your stash in seasonal gameplay moves to your main necro stash oh and your season character becomes normal/non seasonal after season ends
They are not deleted, but they serve no purpose. If you want to play seasonal content and battle pass, then you have to create a completely new lvl 1 character and do everything from scratch again. You can use an existing max lvl character, but then it will reset to lvl 1, with zero gold gear etc, basically it’s like you created a new character and you start doing everything literally from scratch.

Yeah it sucks… but i thought they were DELETING all characters. Like as if it was an open 3 month beta.
And what you mean i cant expirience the new seasonal content ? (Although i dont think D4 has that much longevity to be fair, ill probably get my Sorc to level 100, deck him out, do some nightmare, paragon, stuff, then move to the next game, then come back for him to play on the Expansion) i think they probably mean i wont be able to unlock the rewards (lol battlepass)… within the new season. But the actual content (like tiny bits of story or a dungeon, etc). I can do ?
i mean it could get quite boring, using necro every season. but i want all those rewards to my main dude haha not sharing .

Which we are saying is dumb. We should be allowed to take our characters from season to season like we are telling a story with our characters. I want to be able to look back and remember when my sorc killed some insane dragon boss in season 2 and got that really good staff in season 5.
Instead all of those experiences are scattered across multiple irrelevant characters i have no connection to
The devs literally do not understand what makes a rpg compelling to play. Its the fact you make your own story and create your own history
Exactly this is what i think. The first main character will be the GOD character. The one that benefits from the collection of all the other characters.

So you literally will use the season character as mules to grind good gear. Then at the end of the season you will just delete your season character and just chuck all the stuff you earned onto your base game mega-max level necro
Sounds good. I personally know that I would just get very jaded doing that if I have to start my necro over and over again and become frustrated after 2-3 times of it happening.
Also kinda sucks that your seasonal character will be that disposable. The devs really havent thought this system through at all
Yeah but you won’t be able to do anything with it after a while, because all the new content, short stories, new events, seasons, battle pass etc, you can only do that with a seasonal character. That character is locked in the base game, as are all seasonal characters when the season ends. The only way to see new stories, changes in the world, new content and events, simply to continue playing the game meaningfully, is to create a brand new character and literally start from scratch.

we will see, ill wait until the season releases then decide haha but like i said i want all to go to my main dude because when there is a main campaign expansion release id have everything i got from my seasonal necro character .
Thats just such an stupid idiotic design. The only reason i dont care much is because i really dont see D4 having that huge longevity to be perfectly honest.
So im probably play this game till the season ends, then i hope at least that my main character can experience the expansion.
What they could do, is a system like Call of Duty 4. When you were max level and if you wanted you could “reset” but that way your character had like a badge of honor of how many times your character reseted.
At least that way i could be using my same character, and if he has reseted 30 times, he would have at least something to show for it.

If you are only interested in 1 class its going to be so monotonous doing the same grind for the same abilities over and over
Luckily i want to create hopefully 1 character from each class so can sidestep that frustration a little bit for a few seasons by only focusing on 1 class a season.
But even then it has its drawbacks because if i only focus on 1 class each season i miss out on 80% of the new seasons content which will be tied to each of the classes.
If i only play sorc season 1 i miss out on all the new druid, necro, barb and rogue gear and items.
hopefully they listen for once and change it.
they have to know that these days people are getting into games a lot. even people that were never into games and thought its nerdy/geeky its not like back then when D1 and D2 had an specific community hardcore gamers.
now days even console games try to make options for newbies to make it easier for example last of us 2 you can really tweak it in accessibility so it could be very easy !
studios are actually thinking about gamers that are just still new to this world.
i read once that people that were never into gaming didn’t even have ps4 or any previous ones started to get into it after release of ps5.
so blizz should really try to be flexible and make it work for everyone for hardcore gamers and just average gamers like us that just want to take our main guy through an epic never ending adventure

The only reason im not refunding is because 2 things, character at least is persistent (at the very least i think i can play the expansion with it!) Similar to Diablo 2 (convert to expansion character?)
And tomorrow and the 2nd is already a holiday… the holiday is the 2nd but in my company they doing a day off the 1st. “Chiusura Aziendale” you guys in Merica would not understand.
So if i refund diablo now, i would be left with a very long weekend without stuff to do, and i would probably end up spending more than the €100
It was the easiest option for them. They just copy it from d3 and paste it into d4 and that’s it. There is the support of d3 players, and ofc there is the other 30% who are carried by the hype and the other 50% who don’t even understand what’s going on.

But this approach is stupid… wtf wants to do leveling from scratch every 3 months ? its just moronic.
And even if there was an auto level 100/skip campaign… It would not be my character. 0 attachment…

there is actually a lot of crazy hardcore gamers that like this design. but it should be an option not forced on to us
as i said, they should give us the choice similar to call of duty’s paragon system, when you just decide to reset, for an ever increasing/cooler icon. (if you dont mind unlocking the weapons and stuff all over again)
At least that way you have some sence of persistence, and you know, its always the same character that youve come to love.
maybe they might who knows there is still alot we dont know about seasons, wait and see until it releases. when i was watching the season announcement video there was alot of hidden parts of it saying its top secret cant show it yet.
