Most ARPGs have a solo mode and multiplayer mode. I really don’t understand how my opinion is this polarizing. I’m asking for them to add something. I’m not asking them to remove anything. For people who want the multiplayer MMO aspect, go do that. I’m only asking if Blizzard if they could please just add a solo (with an MP if I want) mode.
Imagine that everyone turns off mmo mode? Then this component will completely disappear from the game. I am satisfied with the current situation, the main thing is that the pvp mode should be only in strictly defined zones and participation in it does not give strong advantages over pve players.
That’s not a realistic risk when there will be millions of players. There’s no scenario where there are so few with online turned off that they can’t find the 5 or so players to scatter around you.
We all know this will never happen. The perma online light multi is such a golden key for them to add features with time that they will never give us the chance to opt out. Also this would mean double seasons, one for multi and one for solo: again, it will never happen guys.
BUT, given I’m also totally ssf since forever, I don’t mind multi activities here and there IF they won’t start to gate best loot behind them like they are doing with WoW.
Ironically (or not) the main reason why I left Immortal is because when you switched the difficulty level you were forced to party to enter more difficult dungeons. I don’t fokkin want to party. I don’t want MY progression to depend on others. Just leave me alone XD
Like I said in my other thread, I will pay for a solo feature if necessary, after all, $$$ is the only language games companies understand.
What baffles me is the amount of vitriolic comments arguing against a solo mode. As if they take the rejection personally, and fear that no one will want to go online and play with them. Please don’t worry, most people need social and emotional validation, so for every person who wants to play solo, there will be at least 100 who want to play with you.
I’ve seen maybe 30-40 people during both weekends combined idk what’s the problem with this
Problem is this isn’t your typical arpg it’s more of a mmoarpg , have you ever played WoW solo/offline? There you go , now move on or go play D2R man idk there’s not much else to say other than “IT IS WHAT IT IS”
Mobile tier ? Lmfao the game was made for console peasants wtf are you even talking about ?
I am more fearful that this will turn into Fallout 76 with all its toxic players I have already had my loot taken from me after I killed a event boss and some player was waiting in the background ran over and took everything from me. That sorta shit happened off and on it really makes me want to re think even getting D4 in the first place and just wanting till the new final fantasy comes out or something to that effect. I don’t want to play with others nor do I wish to be hunted down like some deer just cause people can.
Well diablo 4 just proved you wrong man
Riiiiiight hahahaha
I can understand who doesn’t see the problem either, because apart from world bosses, every other activity we know of does NOT require a party.
You see some people around (lots in cities but who cares honestly) sometimes and that’s all. I’ve played 20 hours total over the two weekends during prime time and i saw probably 20 people total outside cities during those hours. There are a lot more people around in Immortal.
Again, I would also prefer to see literally no one around me but I think this is a good compromise, probably the best we can and will get.
Loot is personal. Everyone sees his loot. Nobody can steal your loot.
Unless they picking it up and dropping it on the ground while sorting their bags, but you can’t really blame the game for that, at that point its natural selection…
This is not a problem, unless you are extremely antisocial.
If someone is following you or harassing you in ANY way just port to town and back.
Did that, for other reasons, and it was a new server session or something. Almost always new people at the event if there were any at all.
A big part of the game is solo/group instances anyways.
If someone steals your loot, change your Battlenet password right away.
‘‘Just disprupt your gaming experience because of the flawed MMO system’’ idk what it is with some of you srsly. I understand if you don’t mind other people being in your game and potentially harassing you but D4 is not an MMO, it wasn’t planned as an MMO and it doesn’t function as an MMO.
It has barely any multiplayer functionality, the stuff it has can be nice but it can also be bad especially for people that just want to play solo and are looking for a solo experience in a diablo game. There’s no downside for the multiplayer people when there’s an option to turn multiplayer off so i really can’t understand why you are trying to make people accept the multiplayer force when it isn’t needed.
It would have been easier creating a solo player game with actually awesome features than this okeyish copy paste Diablo with some multiplayer aspects. And the multiplayer certainly isn’t needed, neither for your personal enjoyment nor for the overall game. Don’t get me wrong, i’ll probably get some hours of fun out of it but it doesn’t mean the game is worth up to 100€.
The only reason D4 has multiplayer right now is selling cosmetics later on and they will not be cheap that’s for sure.
If key elements of the game are not for you then accept the game is not being designed specifically for you and move on with your life. Not every game is designed around every single persons idea of a perfect game. People like to think the world and everything in it revolves around their needs, if it’s not exactly how they like it then it’s inherently flawed and wrong, you can only laugh in the faces of such people, many of whom are in this thread.
But there is literally no design around the multiplayer aspect of the game.
There’s no such key elements that you are talking about. It’s not a WoW or a New World or even a Lost Ark. It’s got nothing in its systems that is essential for a game to have a worthwhile multiplayer experience.
You got a World Boss. That’s it. There’s no interaction with other players, no need to group up with other players for any of the world events. No need to join a clan or anything else that would make it important for the world to be in a forced multiplayer state. The only thing that you will get is free advertising for skins. LOL
EDIT: and the world boss is boring af
This was my thought as well. Who wouldn’t buy Beliah or Leah skin? I’m sure there are those who would. I do like the idea to form an adhoc group to do dungeons and stuff. I liked that part. I don’t think they would back down from this route they had decided to go. Let’s just hope there are enough solo-able content. For example you can solo almost everything in ESO. Not always happen but close enough to “be alone in social mmo” if needed to be.
Only thing I’m turning off is people complaining over stuff in a online mmorpg game [ignore button intensifies]
