First things first: I played necro. I dunno how it is on other classes, but from my own experience, this is not fun - and no, I’m not talking about the skeleton nerf. (I don’t imagine this is console-specific either, but alas, we don’t have an actual generic forum.)
Every “swing” of the weapon is slow as all hell - which means every spell will be slow as hell to cast, too. Every projectile is also slow as hell, like it’s moving through molasses - which means by the time they hit, the enemy will have long moved out of its way, or else dropped dead (targeting being meh at best doesn’t help either). This is exacerbated by the animation lock: casting the next spell can’t be done until the animation for the current one is finished first. It feels like I’m fighting with controls here, as if the buttons get stuck all the time, or otherwise aren’t working, making me waste Essence or outright fail to execute things. With so many fast-moving enemies (relatively or objectively), it’s an exercise in frustration. Hell, it even affects being able to dodge things, because often by the time the character can actually react, it’s already hit.
Not sure if this was always the case or if they changed something since the open beta, or if it’s just more noticeable now due to how fragile the skeletons have become. Whatever the reason, it feels weird. We should really have either the spells/projectiles sped up (especially with how many spells are projectiles), or the animation lock removed - that alone would go a long way. Please.
