Why are players in Group Finder so toxic?

I want to say right away that I’m not claiming that all D4 players are toxic. In fact, I’ve repeatedly found that if you ask for help in the game chat, someone will most likely respond and help.

But I’ve run into another problem. I’m currently at paragon level 161. I’m playing T4 more or less comfortably. To test this, I tried to complete Infernal Hordes and successfully soloed. But soloing this type of content is very unprofitable, especially as a necromancer summoner. I’m trying to find a group to play through, and I only see players with paragon levels 200+, or even close to 300. I try to join them, but they simply kick me. I keep searching, but I can’t find any groups of my paragon level to join. They simply don’t show up in the search results. There are only groups for paragons 200-300, and they refuse to accept me.

The funniest thing is, the characters there are so good they can clear the entire arena solo with three wagons in a party. But they need more DPS? To kill monsters in 0.9 seconds instead of 1 second? I spent 30 minutes trying to find a group and still couldn’t.

Especially after I spent an hour trying to kill Uber Bosses. I’ve had some nice parties, but I’ve often found myself in a group with a player who could easily kill the boss in a couple of seconds—and then he’d kick me because I’m so bad. Even though I can kill that same boss solo. Yeah, not in two seconds; it’ll probably take me about 30 seconds, dodging attacks. But I can do it. And yet, I’m still a liability to the player who can kill the boss in two seconds. And this whole situation is incredibly frustrating.

It sounds like those players/groups are interested in maximizing their returns…

I have a 220+ paragon character, however for Hordes I still run T3 and sometimes T2 … have you tried finding groups at those levels?

And keep in mind, there is a big difference between “someone helping a player because that player asked for help”, and “someone joining uninvited and being a dead-weight for the other players” - and yes, I know the groups are “open” for anyone to join, but that doesn’t mean that they really want just “anyone” to join.

I can play T3 with my face rolling all over the keyboard. I don’t even have to press any buttons—my skeletons will kill everything themselves. And I don’t need the Infernal Hordes themselves. I need to complete the seasonal challenge from the last chapter, which requires completing the Hordes at T4 with a Chaos item equipped and earning 1,000 embers. So, I’m not interested in just playing T3, and there’s no point, since I’ve practically completed the Season Journey.

As for who wants what, that’s the game’s problem: it doesn’t allow us to separate toxic players and ultra-mega-one-shot-pew-pew-daddys from regular players who just want to complete some manageable content.

Fair point, I forgot about that part of the season journey…

To the OP, have you ever tryed to start your own group?

That way you won’t be kicked out….

Yes, I waited for about 15 minutes. One person join me, but left the group after a few seconds. Another one join me for a couple of minutes, but then left too – apparently tired of waiting.
