Come on down to the Darkmoon Faire to see the first interactive Hearthstone Pet!
There are an infinite number of skins in the shop, almost every single one is unobtainable due to the rotating shop.
Instead of just making it one big shop with different prices, like League of Legends, you decide to add a gacha with more skins that will be entirely unobtainable?
On top of that add a scaling price to said gacha?
With the grand prize, the thing people want the most, being a 0.1% drop chance?
And it rotates?
Who wants this?
Who asked for this?
If this came alongside a shop update that removed rotation and just let you buy skins except for what’s in the gacha, that’ll just be added in like a year, I think it’d be fine?
Just more stuff I’m never gonna get.
I’m happy to buy the battle pass, currently, but I see no reason to ever interact with this.
Whatever happened to betas and product testing?
Exciting!! Can I get a free pet? Cheers
Anything but improve the shop to let us get old hero skins more easily…
Anything but make thematic expansion boards…
I love your game, but it’s getting kinda sad.
It’s really incredible to me how the hearthstone team keeps sucking with these cosmetics. I never expected they could do something worst than the BGs hero-reroll. I was wrong.
Isn’t adding a Gacha mechanic like opening the seventh seal of the apocalypse for a mobile game?
Leadership has gone full full demonic cult on the greed. At least it’s just cosmetics…for now.
This Slotmachine style is worse then all of their previous tries to get money… this is much more worse than put it into the shop for a 20$ for example like usually… Gambling is a serious addiction… We absolutely don’t need it in Hearthstone in my opinion! RNG is enough…
Yes, 0.1% chance for the free roll… good luck…
they do everything except what PLAYERS WANT !!!
How lame is that blizzard ??
unplayable game but worried about lame cosmetics !!!
zero cents spent here now and always !!!
I like the idea of pets, but I think this misses the mark in two ways:
-
First, it’s adding a new feature to the game but the vast majority of players won’t be able to experience it. I know it’s not the first time a feature it’s introduced behind a paywall (like the first time we got skins) but unlike that, and unless I understood the videos incorrectly, your opponent cannot see your pet, only you can (I base that on the videos not showing the opponent with a pet). Also the entry barrier is a lot bigger. The first hero skins I think were 10usd, and you could get one if you bought the warcraft movie dvd too. Here it’s 158usd for the most part with 0.1% of players randomly getting it for free.
-
Second, and ties a bit with the previous one, it’s a cosmetic you can’t show off. Unlike other cosmetics where your opponent knows you have it (like in bgs where I’m certain if you don’t have a board besides the default one you will always fight on your opponents), your pet is only visible to you.
Ways to solve it: I think this feature should have been released with 2 pets, one paid and one that you could get by playing through an event, even if the second one was a limited version (like not having the xp thing or having to pay to unlock the xp customization). I also think there should be a way for your opponent to see your pet.
One more thing, I think it’s a missed opportunity that when you kill your opponent your pet doesn’t jump to the board and slaps/bonks them for the last hit.
Yeah no. That dino is staying in that gacha ball for the rest of this game’s existence as far as I’m concerned.
I’m glad I won’t be able to see the opponent’s pet, I find it very distracting. Only the ones that pay the 160$ will get the pet, so this feature under paywall will hopefully be forgotten after a while. Blizzard will probably not abandon the pet idea, and in the future it will be more accessible, probably obtainable as battlepass reward, or buy it from shop with runes or even gold.
I have been playing this game since release. Instead of fixing wild or developing and keeping in the game a twist rotstion that allows you to continue to use the collection of cards we get over priced cosmetics and this gambling.
No thank you.
