The patch includes updates for Battlegrounds, changes for two minions in Standard, and more!
Good riddance to megasaur and cannon and I like the look of every other change 
blad why would you the priest legendary blud? priest class needs a rework and serious buffs not nerf. big up myself blad.
I seriously don’t get it. The problem with kael is not his mana cost (first nerf) nor paying 1 rather than 0 (second actual nerf).
The problem with kael is “as long as HS has 0 mana spells, kael is gonna be BROKEN because you will pay 0 (1 now) to cast stuff meant to be casted at turn 10 taking your full turn”.
This nerf is totally useless, it won’t stop what kael is doing in wild and especially in standard. Won’t change a single thing.
Basically rather than floating 1 mana due to the innervate, now you achieve the same broken thing spending all the mana with no float.
Ridiculous.
Not even worth to continue the balancing discussion at this point, Blizzard totally failed even to identify the problem. TWICE.
The high rolls happening 1 turn later mean that the only meta deck Kael is in is gona get run over by all the aggro. Now when they nerf the aggro will he still be a problem? Probably, but it’ll definitely hurt that deck.
Really like this update, especially for the Battleground format. I stopped playing it cause of too many people forcing Murlocs making games very random, now i’m interested in seeing how things evolve.
And the changes for Standard are a good start, let’s see how this Kael will perform.
How to balance patch:
- kael’thas: either change the card completely (I suggested for example every third spell you cast in a turn summon a 8/1 phoenix with rush) or at least put it in HoF. Anyway, it should discount eventually only the third spell in one turn. Can’t discount multiple spells, especially considering the huge amount of 0 mana spells around.
- lightning bloom: becomes “refresh 2 of your mana crystals”.
- Illucia: should be neutral actually, to give every class the opportunity to play vs combo decks. Anyway, it could become “look at your opponent’s hand and take one card”.
- sorcerer apprentice becomes “your spells cost 1 less but not less than 1”
- Argent braggart becomes “gain stats to match the highest stats from minions of your opponent”
- goody 2shields starts without divine shield
- alura becomes cc6
- devout pupil becomes cc9
- secret passage becomes cc2 and draws 4
- tortollian pilgrim casts from deck instead of casting a copy
- edwin vanclef goes in HoF
- gibberling becomes cc2 or 0/1
- voracious reader becomes 1/2 cc4
- twilight runner becomes draw1 or cc6
if kael is not changed, then also the following cards need nerf:
- guardian animals doesn’t give rush or the summons become 2x cc4
- survival of the fittest becomes +2/+2
General considerations for actual standard:
- priest has too much value
- paladin has too much tempo
- druid has too much swing
- spell dmg mage and tortollian mage are awful experiences to play against even when you win
- priest mirror takes forever and it’s just a lottery on who plays galakrond first, on top of the lottery HS already is with 90% rng
