Sap’s strength was disrupting your opponent’s curve - forcing them to pay it’s mana cost AGAIN. This works wonders with Necrium Blade, Anka, even Hooktusk!
Seriously though, this card is great. It’s bad against token decks, but works wonders against semi-large minions.
