Quests have always been a problem, but the latest set is probably the worst offender. The first and second set of quests didn’t give you benefits for finishing a part of them while these do. The end-of-quest rewards have also been jacked up quite a bit
I wouldn’t say it upsets me, it just seems a bit mental.
I don’t know why someone who doesn’t like making
decks would start to play this game in the first place.
For the same reason some gamers enjoy FPS games but rather YouTube smokes/flashes than spending time coming up with them themselves? It’s perfectly reasonable to like a game without enjoying all aspects of it.
Probably because they do like the other aspects of the game. Like learning how to navigate a deck and outplay the opponent.
While i do think that quests are powerfull, and that to many use them. There are decks out there that handles fine without quests. Not many, but some. Druids, hunters, most shamans, some rogues, some mages.
I think this meta is better than most. There are alot of classes that you can use. Druid, warrior, mage, warlock, rogue, priest, demon hunter, shaman… I have seen all these while climbing. Admittely, there are few types of each deck. Usually only tech cards are the difference, not the win conditions.
I myself has found a working hunter deck. With no quests. So far in plat/diamond i love when i face quest warriors, warlocks, shamans. Only mages are a big issue, and a lucky hand druid.
You might not reach legend, i havn’t. But you can still have fun.
Quests have been around for years. It’s not a new thing in Hearthstone. And there will be many more to come in the future. I rather enjoy them.
