Constant freezes

Had constant freezes during the last 3-4 months. Have tried updating drivers, changing sound quality / channels and increasing CPU affinity.

I have no idea how to attach files to this post, so here is a pastebin of my DxDiag

and MSINFO32 with ProgramGroups and IRQ removed to reduce size

Hello Arkandos,

There is a newer driver for your graphics card available here. Please check for newer drivers of your other hardware on the different manufacturers pages as well. Please also go through these steps.

Kind regards

What’s your opinion?

I don’t know if I can even respond as I am apparently silenced for making this post. (How did this break the code of conduct?)

Over the last few months I have tried updating all drivers, to no effect. Some of them have probably gotten outdated by now, but this problem has gone on longer than that. Tried running the computer in safemode with nothing more than essential applications, no change.

Will try updating the GPU drivers for the 6th time, but I doubt that will have any impact.

Edit: Updated all drivers, issue persists
Edit2: Did some additional tests. Had to split the adresses up as I apparently cannot post links despite having this account for 8 years.

Arkandos, your post only mentions GPU drivers - have you also tried other troubleshooting steps in the support article previously linked? I’m referring to this one.

Please make sure the whole system is up to date - that includes your network drivers as well.
Additionally, your MSInfo shows several applications running that could potentially take a toll on game performance - try closing everything your system does not need to function properly, overlays especially.

check also your power management settings; as you are using 3rd party software that allows fan control/power settings, make sure you check the settings there (and try disabling them as well).

The age of a Blizzard account has nothing to do with forum restrictions.

I have posted in the forums before though.
As I said, I “Updated all drivers, issue persists”
Power management is set to High Performance.
I also tried starting in safemode with nothing but essential applications running.
Have tried reinstalling the game & repairing it, didn’t help.
Heroes of the Storm is the only game where this issue exists.

I have the same problem.
More specific these freezes come randomly at events like:
-map events (boss spawn, event start,…)
-any skill use by any hero except mine (ulties are preferred to cause the freeze)
So as you can guess, at a 5v5 fight there is a high possibility to die to a freeze.

The only thing helped me is to delete the cache folder:

But this is only temporary, 1-2 days and the issue comes back…
Still waiting for a fix…

Deleting the cache did nothing, but thanks for trying.

Good morning Arkandos,

Could you please post a fresh DXDiag and MSInfo here? If the data is too big to be posted on the forum directly, you can use a page like pastebin.com and post the link to it here then.

Kind regards

Good morning Arkandos,

You haven’t updated your network adapter driver yet as Vyraneer suggested above. Please do so.

You secondly have multiple programs running that can cause your issue. You have, for example, three different Overlay programs running (Logitech, Overwolf, Discord). Those programs can cause performance issues.
You also should check that your corsair and logitech software are fully updated.
The asusgpufan software indicates that your system is possibly overclocked. I suggest to set all settings back to default.

Kind regards

What’s your opinion?

My network drivers are the latest, and have not been updated in quite some while.
As I said before, I have tried playing the game with nothing more than essential programs open.
Logitech & Overwolf are disabled. Discord’s overlay is disabled for HotS.
I can detect no performance issues or spikes when playing, other than network usage shooting up and down.
My GPU is not overclocked.

The manufacturer webpage says different. They have their latest drivers from this month. Please try updating them here.

Kind regards
