Hi everyone,
I’d like to propose a feature that could significantly improve the overall match atmosphere: an automated reporting/flagging system for players whose Kill/Death (K/D) ratio falls below 0.5 in a single match, similar to how “Intentional Feeding” is currently handled.
The Problem:
Even if it’s not always “intentional” in the strictest sense, players who consistently perform this poorly ruin the experience for everyone else. Often, these players don’t see it as a problem; they simply run in, die, and sometimes even mock their teammates’ frustration.
Proposed Solution:
I suggest a progressive penalty system to filter out this behavior:
-
Isolation (Low Priority): Initially, such players should be marked (e.g., with a “red triangle” icon) and matched only with others of a similar standing, isolating them from the competitive/serious player base.
-
Strict Sanctions: If a player accumulates a high number of these “performance flags” - let’s say more than 15 points (where 1 point = 1 match with K/D < 0.5) - it triggers a ban. This threshold is high enough to account for “bad days” or accidental circumstances. For perspective, my stats on these heroes start from 8 and average between 14 and 40. As an average player, I consider these to be normal figures. A K/D ratio below 0.5 is 16 times lower than my own ‘bad’ games. In my opinion, anything below this threshold is intentional griefing that ruins the experience for everyone. It leads to resentment toward support for their lack of action and drags down the overall impression of the game.
-
Tiered Bans: Bans should increase in duration over time, under the category of “Intentional Griefing via Excessive Deaths.”
Why this works:
Based on my extensive gaming experience and past background as a game server administrator, I am confident that this approach will force “griefers” to change their attitude. If players know that mindless dying has real consequences, the quality of matches and the community atmosphere will improve drastically.
What do you guys think? Would this make your matches more enjoyable?
