Random 1 second freezes in game only

Dear reader,

Me and my high end pc love to play heroes of the storm, but i have a problem in game. My game freezes every 40 sec for 1 sec. sound plays during the freeze, but i cant give commands during the freeze. i have tried re-installing drivers, the game and battle-net. I also took some time to find if there are similar problems, but couldnt find a solution.

Is this a known problem i have? and so please help me fix it, i’d play it way more if i didnt have the freezes.

Hello again,

You have a few programs running, that have Overlays integrated. It might be worth a try to have no programs in the background when playing the game. Please try this.

Is there something we’re overlooking?
Have you ever had similar problems?

I just want to be able to play the game in a normal manner

I’ve also been encountering the same issue. Tried all steps above aswell.

hello, sorry for my english, the same thing happened to me since yesterday’s patch, the game was never bad, I tried to repair it, to restart the router and nothing, not fixed, I tried to play against bots and the same thing happens to me, it’s the game.

Not to that extend to be honest. Could you please run a freshWinMTR?
There has been a recent Windows Update, have you done that?
Also, just a thought, have you checked if all necessary Ports are open?

I put the ports open and ran another MTR’s and still no change! (mtr showed no loss)

This is really tough! Are there known issues with my graphics card?

Nothing in general, no. As it is not really clear from the MSInfo, are you using two graphics cards? If so, could you please switch of SLI and use just one card to run the game?
Also, could please check if there is a spike in the usage of the GPU and CPU when those freezes happen?
And are you using any overclocking software? If so, please check the settings.
A bit unrelated, but should be done is to update your Windows to the latest version, there was a recent update.

hi, i just installed the newest update and no changes.

i only have one graphics card, i am not overclocking it and the gpu, memory and cpu all stay under 50% aswell as no visible changes when the freeze happens, which is very interesting!

I suspected this, your Windows Update wasn’t successful, it is still on the same built like previous. Please do a full update of your Windows to make sure this isn’t the cause of your issue.

hmm says here when i check for new updates that its up to date, ill try to uninstall and reinstall some updates

The game is doing this to me too and I seem to be getting excessive writes to the drive when it freezes. Not sure why this is happening.

I have the same problem.Random 1-2 sec freezes for no reason.I play Wow and Overwatch and I have no problems at all.I tryed everything from your suggestions here.I closed all the programs that are running in the background,I updated windows to the latest version, I updated the drivers of my graphics card,I ran the memory diagnostic tool.Lowerd the graphics and there is no change.How can I post the MSInfo and DxDiag it doesn’t allow me to post links.What is wrong with this game why I have problems only with this game.This is the inportant part of the link for DxDiag “W8G9MD5d” and MSinfo32 “VJTp2nXZ”
