What is the point with this if people do not play any rank games?
I have not played ranked in 2 years and I will never ever do it more.
Will leave games anyway if people see the game is lost.
The reason is excatly what you just said - it is for people who give up. You deserted the battle so you will get punished for it, rightfully so

I think it is insane that you MUST win to get deserter buff away.
This games you win 1 and then you lose 6-10 games and then win 1 again.
So now I only care about doing the gold quests.
Fix the game as it was at the full release.
It is better this way that you need to win a game. Before those who give up or just force own team to lose cuz of afk they can just go afk the deserter buff away.
Keep it as it is now, those who give up will learn some mental toughness
Quitters ruin the game for those who don’t quit.
Quitters don’t understand the comeback mechanics of this game
Forcing people to win may get them to stick around longer because quitting a quitter game adds to your punishment so they are forced to stay and maybe learn that combacks are a thing in HOTS and that there are worse things than loosing.
So you ruined the game for 4 other people by giving up and not trying to win. The punishment is that you need to try to win. What about that isn’t fair exactly?
You winning one in seven games is definitely a you issue.

You leaving lost the game, now go win one to make up for it. Leavers should be banned straight up for x amount of time.
