Allow unlimited Pins in the blocked list so we can block AFKers

Cool. It’s good to see that you’re in an agreement now.

I’m not taking anything out of context.

It’s got nothing to do with ranks. Let me make that perfectly clear.

Ranks have no bearing on your avoid list. Population have nothing to do with it, since there’s more than enough players to at least put the avoided ones on the enemy teams.

It’s a simple 50% chance you’ll run into them on your own team, unless they’re pinned no matter their ranks and no matter how many people are available.

The bottom of the list is the most recent, while the top is the oldest addition to the list. You can add more than 15 but when you add more, the people on the top will be removed and replaced by the newly avoided player(s).

Quoted from the patch notes.

Avoid as Teammate

The Avoid List has been updated with the following new features:

  • Players now have 15 avoid slots divided into 3 Pinned slots and 12 Recent slots.
  • Pinned Avoid slots guarantee that these players will never be in your matches and unlike our old Avoid slots, they never time out.
  • The new Recent Avoid slots do time out after 7 days like the old Avoid slots, and they only prioritize constructing teams without these players on them.
  • The player with the lowest time remaining in the Recent list is removed from the list if a new player is avoided when the list is full.
  • Time Remaining for an avoided player in the Recent list can be refreshed by using the Reset Avoid Expiration feature.
  • The Avoid List is now its own tab in the Social menu (which still only appears when at least 1 player is avoided).
  • Any players that were avoided when Season 11 ended will be removed from the avoided list due to the aforementioned updates to the system.

Where exactly does it say what you’re saying about ranks and population being the determining factors for who on your avoid list gets added to your team?

Nowhere, does it say anything like what you’re claiming.

I never wasn’t. You just deliberately misinterpreted what was said.

Where did I.

I said it’s down to population levels.

Fairly clear what I meant there.

It’s fairly logical. But if you disagree, fine.

Right there.

You literally factored ranks into the equation.

Yes. As in there are so many people that it doesn’t need to prioritise, it just avoids.

It only has to prioritise when there are limited options to avoid that player.

Where does the patch update clearly define that?

“For most of our players, these Recent avoid slots function the same as our previous avoid slots—effectively always preventing these players from being placed in your match. It is important to note that it’s still possible to get players in Recent avoid slots in your matches though. This can happen when you’re at very high Rank or if you’re in lower-population regions during off hours.”

He used the word “totally” incorrectly - by definition (as he’s now admitted) it doesn’t “totally” avoid…

The correct term is “partially”…

Thankfully we’ve clarified the matter…

See quite from patch above.

Totally is fine.

Indeed, the quote is fine.

But it totally disapproves his comment above:

Yep indeed  It’s fine, he sees the mistake in his understanding now.

It is exactly what I said. Now that’s clear.

This discussion reminds me of adverts where an item is claimed to be “totally” free when in fact you have to subscribe or get it as part of a bundle…

1: That has to do with regions.

2: It has to do with the top 500 population, not bronze etc.

The reason is because top 500 is regional based not global. There’s only 500 players in top 500, thus they need to do it like that.

Your claim is that it depends on rank, including bronze, when it has got nothing to do with ranks per se at all. It has to do with regions and the top 500 population which is, well… 500 players per region…

To further clarify for any readers who might stumble on this thread and who might be confused by this back and forth…

Every player can rank up or rank down or play during off hours - every single player is subject to variable player populations - therefore there is no case in which the word “totally” applies here…

Every single player has the chance of being matched with someone on their avoid list at some point…

Yep, which is why we need unlimited pinned slots from bronze to at least diamond.

Player numbers in bronze is only slightly higher than t500/GM.

They gave examples. Which I also gave.

Source please.

They specified. You specified but you were wrong.

Case closed. :+1:

Thats your opinion. Its not factual

There is the distribution.

Comes to about 8% bronze and about 5-6% in the t500 range.

Start of OW2, there were a higher % in bronze apparently. But they’ve either since climbed or left it seems.
