Like, at what point are we gunna actually have this conversation? It’s such a taboo topic, people get so annoyed with the mere mention of sanctions against smurfs but it’s utterly ridiculous.
If you live and breathe the game, fine, you can see going against a 4.3k in plat as a learning experience and that’s perfectly fine. However, why tf should the rest of us have to suffer when trying to have a fair competitive experience due to some beta male greb so desperate for validation they see the need to switch on ez mode for their own entertainment. Competitive bans need to be brought in, you’re losing the core of the player base because it’s simply just not acceptable to not only have to deal with it, but also be forced to participate or else you’ll face sanctions yourself. The “don’t play comp if you can’t hack smurfs” attitude is just horrendous, considering the competitive aspect of this game is the only thing going for it, have unorganised casual modes or deal with it? Nah fam, not how consumerism works.
3k genji main throws a few games out of spite, gets reported, berated and abused every match and is sanctioned
4.3k genji main with 2000 hours goes 47-1 has 5 people doing exactly what he says, with his superior game sense and ult management, you’re pinned in spawn for 4 minutes and you cant do a thing… rewarded, encouraged, celebrated.

are you pulling your numbers out or your 4ss? There is no game mechanic available for identifying smurfs, there is no way to tell so you’re basically chasing a ghost with a lot of nothing in your hands. There aren’t even many players in higher ranks, who could be terrorizing “normal” (gold) players, unless you wanna cry about platinum smurfs ruining your day.
a 4.3k player in plat. Come on dude. That is a 1 in 100 chance at least. The 4.3k is already sub 1% of the playerbase, for there to be a player in this rank that wants to make an alternate account is what maybe 20-50% and then he actively has to throw/play bad to get to plat more than likely, 5-10% chance of that ?
So you are talking about like a 0.01 * 0.50 * 0.10 chance. That is 0.0005 * 100 = a 0.05% chance of happening, aka meaning this guy even exists.
plat gold and diamond make up like 60% of the playerbase.
Which means your chance of meeting such a player is (1 / 0.60) * 0.05% = 0.083%
Your odds of meeting a 4.3k smurf in plat is about 1 in 100 games in those ranks, (this is counting both on your team and against you). This is with extremely generous percentages by the way, not at all realistic, that so many 4.3k players are interested in the behaviour you talk about. It is way more likely to be a player a few ranks above the one you´re in, that simply is doing it. Which means he wouldn´t be nearly as unbeatable as a 4.3k in plat.
Just to put it in perspective.
i understand smurfs are becoming more of a problem every pasting day. i think the company is the one to blame, they don’t prevent smurfs they allow them and probably make them.
