Ok, so let me start by saying that I love the LFG and endorsement additions to the game and I think the community improved a lot. That being said, I ran into a snag with endorsements. I’m normally quite vocal and friendly and have no problem getting endorsements; yesterday, after a particularly nice comp match I got endorsed by everyone in my team and reached endorsement lvl 4. We worked so well as a team that we decided to do a few more games together; 6 to be precise.
During those 6 games I got no endorsements from my team (since they had already done so) or the opponent team (which is fine, I only endorse the enemy team when I have votes to spare, after taking care of my team). Problem is, in only 6 matches with no endorsements I dropped back to lvl 3…now, I’m not against dropping end. level but 6 games seems way too few…if I want to keep my end. level up I’m being forced to choose between staying with a good team and look for a new one to keep getting endorsed.
So yeah, play stuff other than comp. Problem is, mostly I play Mystery Heroes when I get tired of shot calling and tense games, and you can’t endorse in Mystery Heroes. Does that mean that every time I want to play a whole comp evening with only my friends I need to go grind QP to get my end. level back? Sounds punishing more than rewarding…

Yup. Get your Level up to 5 so everyone can see that you’re the greatest team player ever and wants you in their group. Then nobody can endorse you anymore other than the opposing team with the “Sportsmanship”, your rate drops, and so does your level.
Working as intended… Shuts people up and makes others play to maintain their level even if they aren’t overly motivated anymore.

Seeing your rate drop after every few games is probably not going to do much for people who aren’t all that motivated to begin with 
We know that your endorsements decay when you don’t get endorsed during your matches.
However, given the fact that your group can’t endorse you in the next match, it needs some improvement.
What if the rate of decay is set by the amount of players who can endorse you:
If 6 out of 11 players (roughly 50%) are only able to endorse you, the possible decay is decreased by 50%
If noone is able to endorse you, you endormen’t won’t decay at all.
Though with a positive mind, it shouldn’t be that difficult to maintain your endorsement by getting “good sportsmanship” from the enemy team ![:thinking:](https://d1kzxbyyijk9k6.cloudfront.net/en/overwatch/images/emoji/twitter/thinking.png?v=6" ":thinking:")

I like that idea, actually. Maybe it can still be exploited but it’s still more fair than what we have.
As for the sportsmanship from enemy team, sure…in theory but I mostly get that when the enemy team is filled with ranters. I say gg and it’s insta-endorse.
Realistically though, I only even endorse the enemy team in 2 situations.

My team is so undeserving of votes that I vote for the other team (the case I mentioned above)

I’ve played a few matches with the same group so they are all endorsed and I have a few to spare for the nice people in the enemy team.
Relying on either of these situations to maintain an endorsement level sucks. I also get a lot more endorsements from opponents on QP than comp. Most people on comp teams quit as soon as DEFEAT shows on their screen.
Also, I’d like a “good opponent” endorsement just like we have “good teammate”. Sometimes I get absolutely destroyed by someone and feels weird to give them “good sportsmanship” for it…

As long as Group members can’t endorse it’s safe to assume that a level 5 player spends most of his time as a loner outside of groups and you probably should avoid it just as much as level 1 players if you actually care about a minimum of decency and cooperation.
That is a fair assessment, I guess. Don’t think that meaning was what endorsement level were made for, though. Someone once said something to the extent of “you hate losing things even if you didn’t care about them when you had them”. This is certainly true for me; when I got lvl 4 I thought “oh cool, whatever” but when it dropped down to 3 20 mins later I was really annoyed XD
Meh, I dropped after being put into a finished game, and had the same thing happening to me just now. I stayed at 4 but probably lost any progress I made today in climbing further up. Just like it took a day the last time to get back to where I was.
This whole thing just plain sucks, and that group members can’t endorse is outright ridiculous for a game that gives you bonus XP for being in a group, even more so since you can’t receive more than one endorsement from the same player per day anyway. That’s another flaw btw. The more you play at odd hours, the more likely is it to be playing with the same people. That too influences the rate at which you are gaining endorsements. It’s entirely crap.

If he was bad at cooperation he wouldn’t be getting level 5. People endorse players that support them or help win.
Not always. Sometimes people drop endorsements for the XP. I’ve gotten sportsmanship and caller endorsements in matches where I didn’t open my mouth.
We’ll see what happens to the higher levels once Summer Games start and being grouped up becomes necessary to maximize loot boxes. 
Speaking of loot boxes. I see people saying they get loot boxes every time they reach an endorsement level but I have yet to get one. Is this a NA vs EU servers kind of thing?
Got 2 for reaching level 4 the first time. Don’t know if that’s always supposed to happen. There was talk about periodic rewards, but that could mean just about everything even witout a specific pattern.
It seems to be a little all over the place. I read somebody saying that going between endorsement 3 and 4 almost every day was absolutely showering him with loot boxes.
Well, I got 3 today without any explanation at all. Guess it was for keeping level 4. Not that I’d complain about getting them, but without a reason and lacking consistency it’s about as pointless as the system as a whole.
You got randomly reported by someone or someonce. so it drop’d it doesnt decay so rapedly i have level 6 on my main and level 5 on my out. And ill tell you that it drop’s from random false/real reporting you prob faced off 5-6 players party team since you did play with a team so when the other team got mad at you they gang report you. Happend to me when i was on level 4 i did a QP game vs 6 premades and they reported me and most of my teams after we spawncamp them and i instantly lost enough enorse to derank my level but its not a full level lost its just the illusin of it since you prob had level 4,10 and after they repoted you you have something like level 3,90 and you will get it back fast.
Its sucks but premades have the power to derank anyone by gang reporting them so i dont want them to have the power to endorse more then once every 12h when you want to have high level endorse you must play and be nice to all the people not just the 5 that you like.
Yeah it shouldnt drop at least if you stay in group and receive no endorsements… As you cannot receive them at all …
