Or, in reality, the training bot’s hitbox is larger than it’s body…

Training bots hit box oh my god this dude! you are a moron go into a custom game and get a friend to stand there and then hold right click move towards them and watch it start doing damage before you are on them.

I’m so bored of these no skill moiras running around able to do so much damage with no effort and then try to act like its not broken in any way.

Or, in reality, you’re just wrong, but too stubborn to admit it.

Are you actually trying to argue that moira’s beam doesn’t lock on? What? You’re mad. I’ve had a decent amount of time on moira, and it’s obvious that the beam locks on. I’ve honestly never heard anyone try to argue otherwise. It’s most obvious when a target moves off your crosshair, rather than you pulling it away from them. The beam sticks to them, and you literally can’t argue otherwise, cause it just does, and that’s how she’s always been.

They actually even nerfed her lock on to a lesser degree a while after she was released because people complained it locked on a little too much. And by people I mean Genji mains.

Art3mis knows it locks on but they wont admit it because they use moira alot and think they actually have some sort of skill.

Which ofcourse is the one thing moira doesnt need.

Can’t say I agree with that statement. Every hero takes skill, some more than others :space_invader:

Moira does not have lock-on.

Her weapon visually appears to have lock-on, but in actuality does not. Which is why the second a second enemy walks in front of the enemy you’re shooting the beam instantaneously begins damaging that character instead. Lock-on type weapons would continue to damage the character it was “locked on” to (hence the name).

Moira’s beam is functionally the same as that of Zarya or the newer versions of Symmetra. It just has a visual design which makes it look like it’s locking on when it actually isn’t. The weapon will only land damage to a character if you are directly targeting its hitbox, and any time you are doing so the weapon will visually curve into the center of that hitbox, making it look like it’s locked on.

Lol, yes she definitely does.

One thing I don’t understand is why Blizzard changes heroes to be more stupid-proof instead of skillful.

Check out my post above yours. She doesn’t; she visually appears to, but functionally doesn’t.

It’s not. if you go in to the training range you can see that Moira’s beam snaps to her target, or soft locks on to them further away from the target’s hitbox than the Zarya beam. Zarya’s beam also instantly stops damaging the target as soon as you move your cursor off the target, where as Moira’s has a small, but noticeable soft lock or bend which again continues to dmg the when the mouse is moved away.

Again, one only needs to go in to the practice range and see this with their own eyes. it’s not a massive lock on like Mercy, Winston, but it’s there.

I assumed this post was a troll.

Then I checked the profile.

That much time as a barely plat moira main and you dont see that you only need to point in the general direction of a player for it to lock on to them.

Absolutely bizarre.

Tie her dps to her healing…

Just as her healing runs out and she has to do damage. Making it so her damage runs out and is recharged by healing.

Why?

The biggest issue with moira is that you get a dps moira on your team who refuses to heal you and just goes off to get kills. This would stop that and also stop someone just throwing damage orbs, and using her dps but instead force them to manage resources and work with their team.

Big fun thread

That’s because the size of Moira’s beam is larger, so it contacts the hitbox sooner. It does not “lock” on to the target, but the second it makes contact with the hitbox (even on the edge of it) the beam visually curves into the center of it. Break that contact with the hitbox however and the beam will dissipate.

Pay attention to where the beam begins to damage the enemy, and then aim away from it. You’ll notice that the beam stops dealing damage at exactly the same point it begins dealing it. If it was a soft-lock weapon it would continue dealing damage after breaking contact with the hitbox, but as it stands it doesn’t.

@Everyone

There is no lock on or soft lock on to moira’s beam. How it works is it has a circle around her rectile that whenever it tauches a target’s hitbox it starts doing 50 damage per second and it only locks on visualy so it looks better. The only 2 true lock on abilities currently are mercy’s beam and sombra’s hack. and yes it’s a lock on because it folowes the folowing rules:

1:You can maintain the connection for a little bit after losing line of sight or going out of range
2: You can keep the connection if you move your crosshair away from the target as long as their center is on your screen

Moira’s doesnt folow any of these rules. Ok it might go through walls if you are lagging.
