How on EARTH do you counter brig/widow/hanzo?

For Brigitte on a 1v1 fight, stay out of her range and keep shooting at her.

When you shoot at her, she is forced to put her shield up which makes her slower than you. Once her shield breaks, you are in a great advantage.

I’ve realized that when I managed to kill Brigitte as Mercy. My friend got so mad XD

In general, every high mobility hero can deal with brig pretty well.

Regarding snipers, I don’t know myself. The obvious situation where you can counter them is in cramped spaces or in places with much cover.

Mercy is a brilliant counter if you know how to move yourself out of her sights effectively.

High damage characters like doom pharah and junkrat are optimal against Brigette. To counter snipers either get your own or go full dive.

You can pretty much solo kill the widow as flanker ofc not right after your team died. Hanzo kills her also with ease.

Hanzo is special, but usually he doesn’t always hit the heads. So even as tracer it’s not impossible.

Brigg was already mentioned, phara, junkrat, (ashe)
Torbjörn and hanzo kill her too.

Don’t forget, it can always depend on the elo you’re playing.
As a gold hanzo shouldn’t be an issue while a gm hanzo can be very hard to take down.

Widow I saw by far the most busted hero in the game imo.

Practitly 0 outplay, if she sees you she can kill you instaltly.

To anybody who is going to reply “just play her counter”. Genji, Winston and dva can all be killed by a half decent widow in 2 seconds. She has massive mobility with her grapple making even getting close very difficult. When you are close, she fires her mine at her feet (not the intended use of the ability) and spams her smg and melee until you die, she runs or she gets help.

Not to mention her ultimate is literally a hack. In other games you’d be banned for using something like infra sights. Litterly 0 outplay other than “don’t move” or “don’t get shot 4head”

Brig is easy - keep your distance and rain down damage on her from a distance. Just dive on a Widow with someone like D.Va or Winny-poos. Spamzo’s are generally easy to deal with. These players are usually low-skill with dreadful game sense/awareness and are pathetically easy to get the drop on. Use cover/shields to evade the storm arrow spam if necessary, then go in for the kill. Once these numpties experience any kind of pressure, they invariably panic and crack.

I, personally, found Zen as a viable counter to many of those heroes. I used to outsnipe widows and hanzos with ease, with brig you need help though - put discord on her, put harmony on your brig / reaper / pharah and you are good to go. Zens ult helps against hanzos ult btw and i have used it to secure a brig kill when she pops rally (only on premades though, so people know to use trans aggressivly)

You can counter Brig with Hanzo and Widow, you counter Hanzo Widow with Dva / Winston or both or a full dive team, a good Brig can single handily stop full dive team btw :smirk: good luck.

Honestly tho i consider the strongest counters to Brig a good Moira / Ana which is rare, soon you can add Ashe to that list also, they all have something in common that they can bypass her shield in a way, just remember grenade / explosive has big radius do not throw it directly at her but next to her right behind her, and balls just fly past her shield, not to mention Moira ult go’s right thru it.

Honestly; Junkrat and better positioning. He’s deceptivly mobile and if you learn to deal with the arc on his nades you’ll be able to get some pretty clean shots on all 3. But I’m biased when it comes to Junkrat.

Mix in some D.Va or Winston for supirior mobility and it shouldn’t be an issue. you could always try and use McCree and get behind Brigitte and flashbang her, create an opening for the team to exploit.

Or even try Moira you can keep distance and throw out the damage orb to bounce off the floor for optimal damage.

The other option is you could meet it head on with the same lineup, although I assume this would result in a pretty boring stalemate.

Or everything I have said is complete rubish and I’m too far out the loop to know anything of help, in which case; Sorry about that.

Go full dive. With pharah and genji
Dive the widow. While pharah keeps save , just poking from range
And hanzo if he not stays with his group.
Then when both snipers are busy or death. Just play more aggresive with pharah and when rein/bri etc are low dive them and finish it.

But this only works on maps where you can flank a bit.
And dubbel sniper is only hard to counter on defense

Else use the same setup. Or at least the widow. On some maps only way to counter a widow is with a widow. Even if he is better if he have to keep watching out for the enemy widow he can do less damage.(just dont die to fast during the group fight -> dont have to hit head shots either so be very mobile, just keep her busy while the rest of your group hopefully win)

So maybe widow + something to surprise the hanzo+brig . Like a doomfist could use work once when the brig uses her stun on a tank when the 2 groups engage each other. So you can get a jump on the hanzo even when he sticks with the tanks+bri. Or instead of a 2nd dps take a 3th dps or a brig.
