Hello Miku,

Sadly, your files do not provide much information, I’m afraid we can’t really use that data to better understand what’s going on.

This said, though, could you please try troubleshooting steps gathered in this support article (including the advanced ones). Then, should the issue persist, please try running traceroute and pathping tests and copy the results into your reply.

Thank you!

Good morning Miku,

And thanks a million for your data. While the traceroute doesn’t even reach our server, the pathping shows that you are losing data right from the start, the connection between your PC and the router and the loss continues.

This indicates a connection issue between your PC and the router and/or an issue within your ISPs Network.

Are you using WiFi or a cable connection? If WiFi could you please try a cable connection?

Kind regards

What’s your opinion?

I’m not able to test a wired connection as the router is quite far away. I did not have any problems with this before, I will try to contact my ISP instead. Thank you for your help so far.

You are most Welcome Miku. Let me know how you are getting on. If the router is too far away, it might be worth checking if a) there is a newer driver available for your Network card and b) Power Cycling Your Network Devices

Kind regards

There IS global problem with disconnects since a month. Every game there is disconnected people. I though they are leavers, but no, they back if they can login back in time they have, but in most cases they are not able to login. It meet me also several times. It is frustrating and i wonder if they cut costs of servers. Game is unplayable on rank mode, because You are playing and afraid of disconnect. Then you lose points, get banned for some time and noone care it. I read on some twitter game profile that it is because Activision ask for cut costs so they are killing community and Blizzard’s games with this because they care money, not good services and stable playing since all games are online. For me, this is the end of this company if it is true and i will not buy any more game from Blizzard, as I do not buy anytyhing from Activision for years. EA mode on?

I also have a problem with random disconnects that started maybe a week to two weeks ago.

There are hardly any complaints about this here in the forums so there is no evidence to suggest it’s widespread. I did however notice an increased number of players in comp that get disconnected and come back after a bit.

For me the problem is not exclusive to Overwatch, although it is where It hurts the most. I assumed it’s either something in my local setup or my ISP, but for all I tried so far I couldn’t get the situation better.

A hunch I have is that this is somehow related to the upcoming DNS flag day (https:// dnsflagday .net/). I heard about it around the same time the problem started for me. Might be the case that some sysadnmins upgraded software or changed configuration to be ready for the change and it somehow causes disconnections for some people. Again, no concrete idea why or if it’s related, but the timing pretty much aligns.

Yeah the problem is not exclusive for me as well.

This is global problem. US, EU servers have same issue since “Activision” - maybe it is that cutting costs… People add logs and it is not ping/ ISP problem.

I have contacted my ISP and there is nothing wrong their side. I’ve asked a few randoms when I played QP (I lost connection after 2 matches), they were having the same problems. Yall need to check your bnet servers

Have you passed your pathping on to your ISP?

At the moment we aren’t aware of any general issues with Overwatch servers. On the other hand, your pathping was clearly showing packet loss since the beginning of your connection, so we can’t rule that out as a cause for your disconnections. That’s why I ask if you provided your ISP with the diagnostics, so they can check if everything is as it should.

For everyone else that is suffering disconnections, please check this article and make sure you follow all the instructions, including the advanced steps:
battle.net/support/article/99037

If the issue persists, please open your own thread (so we can review each case in an easier way) including the following data:

  • Details of issue:
  • Date/time it started:
  • City/Country:
  • Internet Provider:
  • Traceroute (right after a disconnection or whenever you’re experiencing the issue)
  • Pathping (right after a disconnection or whenever you’re experiencing the issue)
  • WinMTR (right after a disconnection or whenever you’re experiencing the issue)

I went to my friend. Different ISP. Played from his place. Disconencts. It is not ISP problem. It is Blizzard servers’ problem.
They say it is not and they point us all to ask ISP for fix. So ALL WORLD ISPS HAVE PROBLEM WITH BLIZZARD GAMES, HA HA HA! Sure! We all use different ISPs and Blizzard blame all those ISPs for problems and they say “No issues”. Sure. It is not possible that different ISPs from 3 different countries (my friends are from different countries) have same issue. The problem is on Blizzard’s side but they do not care. I cant believe that “no issues on our side, ask You ISP” is a solution. Customer service and/ or admins of servers are lamers. OR THEY CUT COSTS AND FIRED GOOD ADMINS AND THEY LEFT SOME TRAPS LIKE random disconnects on several cases :> FIX it and stop bulsht.

Unfortunately, we can’t check if the issue is in our side of the connection or not if you don’t provide the diagnostic files we ask for. If we see an issue on our side, we’ll of course escalate it to our technical team so they can investigate. For now, as I’ve said before, we aren’t aware of any general issue on our servers.

If you’re suffering from disconnections, please provide us with the information I’ve asked for in my previous response. I see you have a thread already opened, so please do it there.

Remember that writing about the same case in different threads make it much harder for us to follow up your case and try to help you, and it goes against the Forum Code of Conduct.

We all provied a lot of winmtr logs and all contacted ISPs. You just cover the case and pretend there is no problem. Whole internet scream there are problems and you say no . Read twitter, reddit, facebok groups, forums. You just do not care customers at all. Thats why we all sell our games or give it away. This game is dead for us. No more games from Blizzard will be bought.
You can tell “no issues” to some kids and lamers. i am sure You will get fired from my company with answers like this. YOU DONT CARE YOUR SERVICES AND PLAYERS. WE ARE NOW CUSTOMERS FOR YOU - YOU CARE ONLY MONEY NOW AND DO NOT CARE ANYTHING ELSE. AND YOU LIE.

+1, I keep getting disconnected too. I got kicked out of the game at least 30+ times in three hours.

My internet is business-class and everything else but Overwatch works perfectly.

It seems a LOT of people are having this issue, thus why I’m commenting on them and saying “HEY, ME TOO!” - this issue didn’t start until the update for the Lunar Event happened!

Guys, if you are playing in US, make sure you are using this forum and keep an eye on this Twitter feed for any service-related information concerning your game region.
While we’ll be happy to provide you with some basic troubleshooting steps, remember that we might not be aware of any region-specific issues outside of EU!

@OPAL

Opal, the tests in this thread are from one user only and I couldn’t find yours in other threads or tickets. Did you post them on a different forum? If that’s the case, please give us the link to the thread and we’ll be happy to have a look.

@YUSEI

I already replied you here; please do not spam different threads with the same message, this behaviour sadly generates a lot of confusion. One message with relevant information is enough.
