Tbh i think she is in a sweet spot. Can be great but doesn’t have to be great if you’re bad.
Honestly i think she’s fine because she doesn’t get played that often so I don’t have any problem with her but I would like to see a bit of a range nerf on her primary fire.
You are a silver boi. You do not even know how to play the game. Stop finding excuses for your own poor performance from game dynamics and certain heroes.

Yeah i played my placement games way under my 100% yet i was still in low platinum. Atleast im man enough to admit i played bad and not complaining about hero skills. Petty soul.
Well her blaster has no infinite range to slow so again like said you probably don’t actually work as team. If she was such a high impact hero then surely the pro’s would play her a lot often. How to counter Mei = play as a team and don’t go 1v1.
Since your pic is from most broken hero in the game and you play it then u are in no place to talk…

No excuses, i just played badly. I normally play high end platinum. Not whining here about mechanics for it though. But even at my worst i am considerably better than you in your best.

Please explain the excuses. I admitted i played badly and that is the reason i am in low end platinum. I have not played but couple games after placement matches due the fact that i find comp games too long and i just want the end season points for golden weapons. But you are only silver and nothing you say here is going to change it. Removing characters from the game is not going to fix it, you need to learn how to counter the skill mechanics and work with your team. Anyway im done arguing over something so petty as this.

Then don’t come with delete this hero, most people really don’t like that Genji wannabe naruto guy hero but ofc it won’t be deleted. Same with brig I have mixed opinions (good and bad). Every good thinking person would know that Blizzard is not going to be so far in the game " ok we delete it instead of balancing it "
well they do not balance it either. Or it takes them like half a year to do some changes. Also Genji requires way more skill than that annoying tank demon
So you scold someone for bringing rank in to the debate yet think it’s fine to mention skill. Well skill and rank go hand in hand, so regardless of whether something requires more skill or not (which everything does), you get outplayed by a better player that just happens to be Mei.
Seriously, if you have a coordinated team that works together you’ll find that Mei is the least of the team’s problems.
I’m only going to talk about my personal experience here so don’t take it too hard.
My experience with mei since the start of the game was an AWESOME one. She is reliable, sturdy, and can handle herself pretty well.
In a lot of close quarters/tank situations she can dominate pretty easily with repeatable CC. She can stall a point till her teammates return and has multiple ways both with the wall and the iceblock to defend herself and possibly teammates from ultimates and enemy fire.
She is one of the most well rounded and wonderful characters to play in overwatch. IN MY OPINION.
She is very strong if you can play her well and have game awareness and understanding(and able to dodge a few shots here and there). Especially if you know your way around a map and can find creative ways to get close to the enemy team without being noticed.
Any map where there is a small room or hallways where the enemy can’t just run away from you will make you a deadly threat to all of them, especially if there are other teammates with you or if it’s only 1 or two of the enemies.
She needs the slow on her weapon and ultimate for various reasons. First of which is that it’s possible to hit a lot of her alternate fire shots but unlike other weapons in the game you have quite a delay(almost a second) before you actually fire. On the one hand if you get used to it it helps you guide the shot but on the other it does make getting headshots a little bit more difficult and this is why she needs the ability to slow and freeze to let her deal the best amount of dmg in the shortest amount of time because her actual dmging fire is very slow.
Saying that after getting used to her i can pretty reliably snipe pharas out of the sky or hit widows that are unaware not to mention the odd tracer or two spinning around me or into me.
Secondly her ultimate HAS to have a slow otherwise it’s just too easy to get out of and not freeze anyone at all. The ult itself barely does any dmg and it would be pointless if they could just walk out since they have at least 2 or 3 seconds before they get frozen(the radius is actually not that big, of the ult itself).
Saying all of that she is much less reliable at range than any ranged dps character and she can’t guarantee a quick burst of dmg like the others can without first at least attempting to slow the enemies near her to make sure you kill them. Also without the slow or freeze she would not be able to deal with any mobile heroes since she has no mobility of her own or any tanky characters at close range, where she fights best, since she needs that moment or two when they are frozen to actually deal some dmg without being tossed around like a sack of potatoes.
So yes in the right hands, like any other character, she can be very strong but saying that she has a lot of disadvantages depending on the map, the team and the enemy team(not to mention ranged fights). Her damage is unreliable and she can’t burst anyone very quickly especially if they have a lot of hp(in the case you are landing a lot of your alternate fire from a far). Her alternate fire, and true dmg, is slow to shoot and takes time to charge and aim but unlike a widow it won’t one shot you unless you are a tracer when hit in the head.
So overall she is one of the most balanced characters in the entire game based on her kit and idea of what she is supposed to be as a character.
All you need to know at a lower rank of how to deal with her is simply stay at a distance because lower ranked meis will have difficulties hitting you with the icicle(secondary fire). Beyond that any ranged attack or character can deal with her very efficiently if she can’t somehow make up for the distance or sneak up on you. Also unlike any doomfist or genji or tracer she can’t run away if she tries to flank.
So there ya have it. Super easy to counter but you gotta be careful around her and i honestly didn’t expect this at all. xD What you said.
I know she isn’t very popular but on the other hand she is definitely not UP or OP. Just because people don’t pick her a lot or don’t want to play her(or know how to or care to learn) doesn’t mean she is in any way in need of a rework. Unlike old symm she can be great on both attack and defense(same with the issues torb had) and that is why she didn’t get a rework or was even considered on the list of characters they wanted to work on.
It’s ok to have nish characters that are unique on a roaster but viable in both attack and defense and on every map(even if not every situation depending on counters and team comps). By “nish” i’m referring to their uniqueness and difference from any other character in the game. I actually would love to have more “special” characters like mei in the game that have a kit that is so different then any other hero. That would be really awesome.
