400 hours on reinhardt alone and I’ve had less than 7 dc’s unintentionally by me. None were over 3 per season.
I have suggested that the leaver (either scamming as you describe, rage quitting, etc.) takes the hit and loses the sum of the sr that would have otherwise been spread out across the team.
Dip below a certain sr and no more comp that season.
IDK but at that point it would be less risky to try to win a game than to game the system.
Creating accounts just to leave and absorb sr penalties would also be cost prohibitive,
me neither, yet this doesn’t matter, there might be people with worse internet out there. Be reasonable and stop crying about “muh SR”, its all worthless numbers…
Ok mate, lucky for you assuming it’s true. In the meanwhile, every person with a mobile broadband (or some other “non-perfect” setup) I know and have played with has disconnected more than 3 times in the last 2 months. 3 disconnects per season is literally nothing, while as a system where losing team doesn’t lose SR is just illogical and would make it possile to climb to GM by maintaining 50% win-rate and having enough hours.
Comparing crime to a game when its literally me losing an hour of my time is asinine. And a 5v6 can result up to a 50 SR loss because of a glitch, but the performance Sr makes a minimum of like 30.
If you have to leave 3 games in one season you need better time management. That’s the problem though, players like you don’t take comp seriously and are completely inconsiderate to players who do. Because players like me play the game as intended.
if no one left and we all agreed to whatever comp the (loudest?) guy on the team wants we can all be top 500! All 10-40 million of us!
Why are you ruining this for me!?!
I love how the expectation of a fair game where everyone plays their hardest where you can confidently say “Wow, nice try we did so well too!” means I want to be top 500.
I love how you think this is even an SR issue, it’s clearly a culture issue. I wasn’t raised by animals so when I know I’m playing a comp game, I’m making sure I’m playing to win for my team, I’m making sure that I don’t have an immediate responsibility, and I make sure there isn’t a tornado outside.
Animals shouldn’t be in my competitive games.
I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to put this nicely, but for real what do you expect with this type of game design? Competitive is always worth playing more than any other game mode, no matter if you are serious or not. Better practice, better XP, golden guns, better rules, better matchmaking, people going for the point etc. etc.
For many people, Competitive is the best and the only form of Quick Play.
this is exactly the point. There is no reason to not play comp.
Since it has no cost, aside of virtually worthless SR number, QP players dont even care about. It is still a game, whether you take it serious or not, if you’re one of those wanna be progamer comp isnt for you anyways, since basically anyone can play it from the bat at no cost.
Then explain yourself
Explain what? Hello?
I expect you to play the format as intended and if you DC and ruin the game for 12 other people because mommy needs you for dinner then you should earn all of our losses. You shouldn’t be able to play with that mindset, period, end statement.
If noone loses SR, noone can gain any. It would break the MMR system completely.
That’s fine. Might wanna tell Blizzard why your 40 bucks is more important than the 40 bucks of the parents of those few million 12 year-olds who go for that dinner. I mean you’re somewhat special already since your games have 13 people in total. Also, tell them how good idea it is to ban like a half of the player population who don’t have as stable internet as you do. That’s good for business too.
everyone’s getting kinda mad about this but it isn’t necessary. the solution to unfair SR loss due to leavers is not to REMOVE the loss but REDUCE the loss. Not by a crazy amount, either. Either that or just leave it alone, you’ll get that SR back the next match!
Exactly, in regards to leaving it alone.
And I don’t really believe games lost due to leavers is as common as people here claim. I have a leaver in one game out of… eight maybe? And really, you will win as many times thanks to a leaver on the enemy team as you lose because of one on yours. So stop crying about leavers keeping your SR down. They make the games they leave less fun, but they do not affect your SR trend. Just like “bad teammates” don’t, as the opposing team is equally bad.
It frustrates the life out me as well. But I see no fix that won’t be abused.
I did have an idea but it is far from perfect. If you’re stacking with someone/people and 1 person leaves the game from your group, you and your teammates still lose the usual SR you would for a normal loss. If you’re solo queuing and someone leaves you either don’t lose SR or have the amount you would lose substantially reduced.
But that would then potentially result in 5 people being punished if someones internet fails and they can’t get back on the game (in a 6 stack).
I get what people are saying about it evening out, but you would need to play ALOT, like a crazy amount for it to even out. Take a coin toss for instance. Flipped 100 times you won’t get 50 tails and 50 heads. To get close to 50/50 you’d need to flip it hundreds of thousands of times. Most people don’t play the game that much so will experience heavy ally leavers or heavy enemy leavers, either way it ruins the fun and feels unfair.
I guess we just need to suck it up.
What do you think about this?: Losing 5 stack (=leaver’s side) should get some minimum penalty e.g. -5…-10 points if no reconnect. Winners who ever they are get normal points. I also think they shouldn’t cancel the fight due to early leaver.
No. That system would be abused so much.
