[OW2] Exclusive Beta Club

So is the reason that a small select group of people were given early access to OW2 is so they can start with an advantage over everyone else?

No. There is no real advantage gained from playing the beta.

So no advantage in knowing the new mechanics, the new maps, the new heroes? Is this a game or a casino?

No. You can learn these things in tutorials and then practice when you get in

Maps, you can again learn by watching. They all play roughly similar so the base concepts or high ground, LoS and map control, won’t change.

There will be 3 new heroes people have access to in betas… none have any new mechanics that will be unfamiliar to current players.

    the hell? xD

Just to make sure I understand your position here, because I want to be absolutely sure I get it before making a judgement.

Are you are saying that someone playing a sport for a year is no better than someone who has just started? So , if person A has been playing (for example) Apex for a year, they have no advantage on someone who has watched some tutorials but has never played a game?

That could be the case technical. some people can just naturally pick things up a lot quicker.

Also, a few hours in the beta isn’t going to help you improve as a player.

Sojourn will get nerfed, so she will be middle of the road.

Same with Junker Queen. She was played in most games, but other tanks are a lot better. So again that makes little difference.

The new support… You are in bronze, everyone will just force Ana Mercy in most of your games so it literally doesn’t matter.

New maps? For the current OW1 modes, they play the same. You’ll figure them out in seconds. Watch a few games on YouTube and you’ll see they are easy.

Push. People playing the beta haven’t figured this mode out really yet. So there’s no real catching up to be done. Can you win 1v1 duels consistently… Then you’ll be fine.

i bet all my money on the first option ;D

It’s more than a few hours. At this stage it’s nearly 6 months.

It seems that you are saying that it’s not really a different game at all. So why kill OW1?

The beta is only available at specific dates. if all days are counted together, the ones with most time in the beta have had around 4 weeks of play time.

So the twitch streamers I follow playing OW2 every day for weeks are just fake news?

Are they league and contender players?
For around 90% of the playerbase the beta stays closed apart from specific dates.

So 10% of the playerbase are just treated differently?

Twitch streamers work as free hype/advertisement for the game. And honestly, the amount of people who have that access are such a small portion of the playerbase that it won’t actually skew the game experience for anyone.
You’ll learn the maps just fine if you watch them, so there’s no actual harm done.

So if you provide monetary benefit to Blizz, they give you an advantage?

I don’t know anyone, outside of streamers who played the second beta for more than a few hours.

Junker Queen in every game got really boring.

If you’re a skilled player. You’ll pick these mechanics up quickly.

It you’re a bronze player, you probably struggling with the current heroes and you’ve had 6 years. Adding new ones won’t change that.

And you know every single person who has played this game.

Correct, that’s why those who have early access have an advantage. I’m glad we are on the same page here.

So I purchased the game 6 years ago? Why don’t you have a look in your database of every player and check that before making silly assertions?

Did I say that

Maybe try reading before making dumb remarks.

I said you’ve had 6 years. Just because you turned up later, that’s on you. You gave millions of others a head start.

Not sure why you’d worry about doing the same thing now…

But I haven’t had 6 years. I purchased it much later. So which is it, did I purchase it 6 years ago, or have I not had 6 years?

So why you worried about beta players having a perceived head start. You were happy to let others have a massive head start with OW1…

I never said anything about when you bought the game. I said you’ve had 6 years to play. You know, since it launched.
