OW2 gets boring after a while. Gameplay is too repetitive unlike OW1

Eh. Well in a sense you are both right… There are two sorts of skill here.
One is pure aim that requires some skill
The other is the skill to position one self and read other players cooldown/abilities to AVOID cc.
One set of skill is pure mechanic the other one is game sense. Two different skill sets.

I feel like removing almost all CC pushes the game towards a more pure mechanically skill based game over a game that requires as much game sense as OW1.
OW1 had too much CC but OW2 has too little IMO.
CC makes games complex and requires one to think into game sense.

MOBA games have a lot of CC and no one sais that MOBA games require no skill to play. On the other hand, CoD has little to no CC and requires aim. Not many people would say you need skill to play CoD…

cod does have cc if you know which and where to use a certain killstreak.

To the point! A very good, qualified comment! I absolutely agree!

And beyond. In addition to Game Sense, you have the option of countering a hero. Choose a Sombra to eliminate Reinhard’s shield. Genji to take Bastion out of the game, Junk/Mei to stop the rolling Hamster etc. All of that hardly matters in the new almost CC-free 5vs5. Basically, it is becoming more and more a CoD clone in a different design. And that is not desirable.

On the one hand we have a reduction in CC and on the other hand no reduction in speed. Even on the contrary! This makes the entire game faster in the balance sheet → and therefore also more repetitive (higher repetition frequency of similar micro-scenarios and processes during a match) → and therefore boring faster!

PS: I had hoped for a 2:3:2 scheme - but that another time.

There are so many issues with the game now that it has switched from 6v6 to a 5v5. I really feel that overwatch could be saved by implementing the changes that they have put into overwatch two directly into overwatch one in the 6v6 format.

The game feels dull and uninspired you can tell that the people calling the shots about the game are far removed from the actual gameplay itself.

If I was Microsoft I would be doing everything I could in my power to bring back the OG overwatch team.

Just saying’.

Imagine they just go back to Overwatch classic 6v6 with old abilities but adjusted with the correct numbers. For example, Mass rez is a energy bar that you build up just like an ult and depending on how full it is you can rez anywhere between 1-5 team mates. Scatterarrow but less than 450dmg so no more one shot killing tanks, Hog can now move when healing, Reaper has all his new abilities and smoother shadow step, etc.

Tell me a new classic Overwatch game wouldn’t bring more players and hype than OW2 with 5v5. I think more of the community want to go back to what we had before but just a guess.

Of course I know this won’t happen. It’ll probably be harder for Blizzard to release an Overwatch classic with all the old abilities but balanced properly, than it would be to release OW2 5v5.

but I know which one I would want

There certainly would be some hype initially. But it would fall of a cliff as old old overwatch wasn’t that good.
