Interesting idea, but…
so what happens when everyone who thinks like you pays real money for the DPS slot, you will have the same queue times, and have actually payed money for the privilege
maybe if they stopped nerfing the ever living hell out of tanks and support, people might be more inclined to play them
rather than just being a glorified punching bag for the DPS

I think the chances of it happening are slim, and not what I personally want either, the only people who would want it are people who want to pay to play and those people are in the vast minority, and it still wouldn’t fix the tank problem.
In fact it’d just make queue times longer for most of the dps players so I guess it’d make blizz some money but that’s about it.
Mate just play a game or two for tickets (I believe its 6 per win, 2 per lose, max 40), then use them for your DPS queues. Two games x two wins = 12 quick(er) DPS queues & you didn’t spend a penny, plus you might get lucky & get a DPS role.

As it is now I just play roadhog. Great damage, self heal and 30 sec queue.
you realize that hog is a tank and not a DPS… and playing him as DPS could be constituted as gameplay sabotage and get you reported and banned right?

Imposter. Anyone reporting someone for that is a clown.
If the hog is getting picks and the enemy are using cool downs on him, or moving to go after him, he is doing his job.
Take the space he has created and be grateful.

True, some comps require 6 people to sit in a pack and move together. In fact Hog will get most value doing that.
But a flanking Hog getting picks and getting focused is really powerful in most ranks, if the team pushes and takes the space he creates.
Similar reason why Ball can be really effective.
People just get salty when they don’t have the ability to adapt their play style to take advantage of the opportunities in front of them.

Well, sadly for you, that would be false reporting. But you sitting there demanding that they play they way you tell them, is actually reportable. It would come under “disruptive language” in the ToS.

no i suggested that i would report someone for playing a tank as a DPS, just as i would report someone playing mercy and not healing (just using her pistol)
if he is doing tank work then thats fine, but tanking and DPSing are different things, hence why the roles are different
the way he framed it, it sounded as if he was picking the tank role for a quick queue, then just playing roadhog as pure DPS
i have no idea why you have to be so aggressive all the time

And if the Mercy goes in pistolling and gets kills… maybe push and follow up and win the fight, rather than crying about it? You don’t need healing if the enemy are dead.

Define pure DPS.
Nobody will ever get banned just because you are mad you can’t beat the hog’s damage.

A DPS’s role, is to capititalise space made by tanks, mopping up stragglers, and generally pumping damage into the enemy
a tanks role, is to be the tip of the spear, open up space and defend supports and DPS
if you are doing the former without doing any of the latter, you are not playing a “Tank” role

I’m saying someone reporting someone for getting value is a bit cringe.
Just because someone doesn’t play the exact way you want them to, doesn’t mean it is wrong.
It is a video game, people are allowed to play as they see fit and if they believe that is the best way to win the fight/match then so be it.
If you don’t like it, avoid and move on. Don’t complain about it.
If the tanks roll is to create space (which it is) why would you report the hog for getting picks and creating space?
And hog is an off-tank… the “tank” part technically is his second job, doing damage is his first job.

Not allowed… what about Zen? He is an off-support so his main job is damage output, healing is a side job.
Or lucio… he can dps while doing a bit of heals.
Brig needs to do damage to heal.
Moira needs to do a little dps to get heals.

go play mercy, and use nothing but your pistol, never healing, never rez’ing, and see how long it takes to get a ban

I dont play mercy because she’s a boring hero to play.
But if my mercy player goes in and gets a pick and we win the fight. I dont care.
If your upset about not getting a rez… maybe dont die in the first place… that means you’ve made a mistake.
