It is unfair if a player leaves during a competitive match. The other team are disasvantaged and it lowers the ranking of others. Maybe Blizzard could void the match or class it as a draw.

Void the match for sure/nullify the result.
Potentially pause the match for 2mins while said person reconnects.
There is potential though that “Friends”/“Groups” could mess with this tactic though in that they have one dudd account playing in which they just D/C that dudd account so their other accounts will never lose - so they’ll have to consider if groups/friends should be accounted for differently.
