If it can’t be solved, you can’t play. No big loss, it is only game in end.
That’s just passing the buck. I paid for the game. I used to be able to play the game. Now I cannot play the game. This is a customer service issue. Customer service cannot help. I, as the customer, am not supposed to wade through layers of integration so find help for this problem. I am supposed to report the problem and they are supposed to workshop the solution, not me.

I agree, you need to report it. But report it to the right people (as directed). You wouldn’t call up your internet provider when you’ve got a gas leak…
You have provided no info about your provider or plan. I can only report from my experiences, which were that prepaid works just fine. But again, it’s a situational matter.
If you get the clear prompt that your type of number is not supported and that Customer Service is not able to resolve this, then I’m afraid that that’s the situation you’ll need to deal with.
Posts or comments that have no purpose other than complaining without being constructive simply do not add to the game’s discussion.
