I mean congrats but that doesn’t make the experience any less ****
And out of curiosity, did you do that solo the whole time and on 1 account?
I did the climb on 1 account yes, playing 95% of my games solo.
I have played on other accounts to stack with people, they all sit around diamond/master because I don’t play enough to really get anywhere rank wise.
But I now play mostly solo whatever account I use.
the tanking experience in general is absolute agony… though I will say, to be stuck in low elo like that is a problem i havent been able to resonate with, yet i hear people say that its an issue. i dont think ive ever played more than a few games below plat 1 where i wasnt able to hard carry on tank. how do you feel about it now that the season is over?
I wouldn’t go that far. But I would say it is boring.
Supports are too strong to make fun play making consistently worthwhile. So you just have to walk about being a battery for everyone.
That being said, I’ve had quite a lot of fun playing tank this season. Being able to freshen it up by playing a bit of 6v6 from time to time has been good as well.
A lot of the game play loop problems this game has, can be solved (or just eased a little) by universally reducing healing numbers and removing role passives.
I used to main tank, and really enjoyed it. It went downhill when OW2 started.
To update on this experience…
Hero bans make tanking far more palatable.
So far I have told them my preferred hero is Ball… so they all ban Sombra… Zarya has been banned in nearly every game too.
This has made every remaining tank playable now. People aren’t spending half the game playing swap roulette and they are just getting on with it.
So far, hero bans are a big thumbs up.
