Toxicity/Banning: I am too afraid of chat/voice

So trash talking is pretty common in all competitive sports and games, and I admit that I did sometimes. But the problem is, nowadays you cannot say ANYTHING since everyone is a sensitive snowflake and will report your for anything that hurts their feelings. So now im afraid to communicate or even say “HI” in chat, because who knows what will get me banned. Im not the kind of guy to get personal or anything. Just simple trash talking like when they miss or “get gud” type stuff. Is that too far? Do i deserve to get banned for THAT?

Also i REALLY feel like people are misusing the report tolls just to ban people they don’t like.
For Christ sake Blizzard, stack reporting is a bigger issue than trash talk.
But i forgot that this is the overwatch community: people can and will report you for breathing oxygen. This is the worst gaming community I’ve been part of, seriously. I love the devs and the game and stuff but this community, jesus christ it’s horrible.

In short: The silence / ban process is automatic, so you can get banned no matter the reason. You can be the most quiet person ever in game, or the guy that talks sh*t every single second, you’ll get banned if people dislikes you. Simple as that. Give me a break already.

Trash talk is unsporting, simple as that. I’ll also add that mute chat button exists for reason, so one can ignore the asshats that say “E.Z.” when you push the payload to their door after 25 minutes, or its a 99/100 point score.

While I generally agree trash talk is common, Blizzard has a commitment to make a better game than the typical one. Apparently you like to trash talk, clearly not just saying hello or general chat, no one reports on that. You do deserve a reprimand for mocking others however, apparently your parents didn’t do much to train you on this point so of course now society has to do it.
