Whatever is considered average I would be happy with.
Platinum, my pc runs overwatch at 15-25 FPS and I managed to get low gold/ high silver.
I think that everyone deserves the rank they are in. If you are in gold, you’re a gold player. If you’re in masters, you’re a master player. If you’re better than the majority of the players in your rank, you should be able to climb sr. Might not be the answer most people were looking for but I think this is a fact and I stand for it. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I know a guy lvl 200
Plays on pc, with pad, 2.3 hours of brig almost 3100.
“I think that everyone deserves the rank they are in”
LEL
I deserve to be wood!
But I can’t seem to go down from silver permanently! and there is no wood anyway…
For the most part, i agree. Not all people are in the rank they deserve to be in. Naturally, there will always be variables, not everything is 100%.
Such is the nature of a team based casual game like OW.
But the people playing this game seems to not understand that indivisual rank in this game, means nothing.
Got tired of people calling me gold so I try harded my way back to mid plat. Probably can reach diamond if I really wanted to and played the meta but I cant be bothered so right now I am exactly where I should be.
I’m exactly at the rank that I deserve to be at. If I bothered with communications, got a group of friends and really pushed myself I would definitely get higher. But me doing those things would make the whole thing feel more like a job than a game and I’m here to have fun. What’s fun for me is playing my part, trying my best but not taking on unenjoyable extra tasks like trying to shepard a team of random players. It’s just not worth the hassle.
So iam on my main plat 2600 and my junkrat only account is 3200. This season mainly played junk to get to diamond 20 hours junk with 60% winrate… Season start at 2800. Where do i belong?
Take it from me, there is almost zero difference between plat and diamond. 99% the same.
If the comp ranking system works well, then they should reset the ranks once and when players end up in somewhat the same rank then it confirms the ranking system works well.
But we’ll never know cause they’ll never do that, which honestly makes me doubt even Blizzard is convinced it works well.
The ranking system at the moment feels more like a carrot on a stick.
I haven’t played ranked in a while, but I feel like there are way to many uncontrollable variables that have a high impact on your ranking. To answer the question though, I don’t care in which rank I belong. The main difference I see is between ranks is mechanical skills (aim and reflexes), how cautious people play and the pace at which they can play (which is kind of a mechanical skill). The game mechanics are well understood at low-average ranks as well.
Many valid points.
The higher up the ranks you go, it’s not just aim and mechanical/sensory skills that improve, but more importantly it’s things like understanding formation, knowing when to back off because you’re checking the kill feed and communicating with your team, ult management and tracking. The factors that really keep a team together and increase chances of winning, as oppose to just being individually, sporadically good at the game.
I’m personally hovering around high plat - low diamond, and I’m fine with that. I see zero difference in the two tiers at all, but it’s only been a couple weeks I’ve started playing ranked again so maybe upper diamond feels somewhat better but as of now it’s all the same. Some games good, some games terrible, repeat.
I’m plat and sometimes I reach diamond, so I deserve plat with a pinch of diamond.
I’m mid-bronze and that’s OK but I could probably go up to low silver honestly.
Just peak 4k to get to GM once…
Because all the times i’ve gone to 3950 i’m suddenly put with people that doesn’t know what they’re doing, refuse to communicate and toxic at the slightest mistake.
Plat.
Lost around 1000sr over the last season largely down to throwers, leavers, smurfs, trolls or disconnects.
This latest run of bad luck has no end.
