Latency spikes. Issue seems to be with a blizzard server

Hi,
Since yesterday, I have had latency spikes that make the game a bit unplayable.
Running a pathping and a traceroute, I noticed a huge ping spike with this server : 137.221.65.60.
This server is on blizzard’s end so nothing to do with my isp.

Heya Simple,

Don’t worry this is normal and as a result of firewalls protecting the server and dissuade some of the tests. If the latency was real, it would continue to other nodes following. Clearly in your test it doesn’t. ^^

Your spikes in latency are likely happening for other reasons we would suggest working through the guide here

If the issue persists, please upload your system files to pastebin.com and reply with the links to the files using the preformatted text option to encapsulate the links.

Lastly, including a winMTR report created while you are seeing issues could help us narrow down other causes.

Thank you very much for your answer. I’m having an ongoing support ticket. I filed the winmtr and system files there.

While i understand the latency spikes could be normal cause they don’t continue to other nodes, I have no ping spike at all in any server when things are running fine.
I know that cause i had the same problem last year between july and august 2020. And the problem was fixed with me when blizzard fixed the milan seabone italian server (at this time, some NA users had their data go through this italian server instead of just going through american servers, happened after blizzard network teams removed some datacenters).
This problem also affected argentine users. The spikes in the milan seabone server disappeared with me when blizzard fixed this for american users.
