Cant start the game

Heyho.

When i start the game my screen turns black and i can only see the mousepointer.

No background sound. Tried reinstalling a few times but nothing works. Any tips?

Same issue here with MBP 2009, running on Catalina (patch)…
I tried several installs but the game keep crashing when I Launch it… Any idea to fix it ?

Same issue here… After 5 minutes of blackscreen, i start hearing the music frome WIII homepage, but nothing more

I’m so sorry it’s taken a while to get here!
There is a known issue right now with the game blackscreening when you start it.
We do have some troubleshooting steps here, but in the meanwhile the bug team are working on a solution asap :slight_smile:

is there a fix for the game going dark and then error codes popping up other wise the game is unplayable?

is there any solution so far? because i just downloaded the game and it wouldn’t start for me, same issue just a black screen and the cursor is visible

I have the same problem. I’ve just bought and installed the game but I only see the black screen and mousepointer. Windows 8.1 Radeon R7 260X. Although I can play Starcraft 2 with Ultra settings.

Black screen was because of windows update 20 nov 2020y. I’ve updated to the latest 17 Jan 2021 and the game starts normally.

Same here, i view the initial screen and then remain fixed… i try to exit Battle Net app or game but nothing work. Only mouse work. Try all various fixes… for example in windowed mode etc, but nothing work.
