8th July Announcement

Hey all, hope you’re safe and well.
As I am sure you are all aware Ion Hazzikostas and John Hight will be doing a live stream this Wed the 8th July, 9am PDT which I believe is 2am GMT (could be wrong on that I haven’t double checked but think we are 7 hours ahead). It has been advertised they will be announcing more things about SL.

However other than potentially a Beta and an Official live date what else do you think they will discuss or show us? I think we know most things so am curious if there will be anything new?

I was also thinking about this last night and was wondering if we may even hear that Ion will be stepping down as Game Director. Either promotion or moving to another company. He has been in the role for sometime now and with the cancellation of Blizzcon they haven’t really had the channel to announce it. With perhaps John Hight taking over as GD, especially as John has never done one of these live streams before it is unusual, to my knowledge anyway.

I am probably wrong but it got me thinking. What do you guys think will be in the announcement and do you think there will be any surprises?

They always overhype this rubbish, and it’s probably just them announcing beta, and “we’re trying to get as many players into the beta as possible, so please check your launchers” :joy:

I just hope it doesn’t come until after thanks giving . I rather it takes a long time to get it right .

Ion worked with blizz for long time. I doubt he want to leave company - if he wanted to leave blizz, he could have done long time ago.

• Shadow Priest - Reverted to MoP design.
• Covenant abilities and soulbinds -
disabled in instanced pvp.
This way I might think of playing it, otherwise it’s classic for me.

Im fully expecting a beta and then awful q&a addressing none of the current issues

As for the announcement, there are only 2 things I want to hear:

  1. Shadow Priests are having a complete change to the alpha SP so people will be able to play SPs without feeling they’re letting their group down.
  2. Definite PVP vendors.
    Then I can go back to blanking out all spoilers until release.

According to their own announcement this is the where and when:-

When: July 8 at 6 p.m. CEST Where: World of Warcraft Twitch and YouTube.

That doesn’t seem to match what others are saying though so now I’m not sure :rofl:

It’s 5 pm for those in the UK and 6 for us in central Europe. That post is entirely correct.

I think the blue may have forgotten the existence of British Summer Time.

They are going to talk for an hour about three subjects, 2 no one cares about and 1 they do, which will be 5 minutes.

These things are always overhyped and to be honest, boring.
