2 weeks prepatch and new races

So i was planning on rerolling a belf paladin but i have no ideea how im gonna do that since theres no way in hell im dinging 60 in two weeks.

As far as i remember they changed exp needed in 2.2 or 2.3 when they changed elite mobs to normal ones too (ex: ogres in stv, everything in Burning steppes etc.)

I’m pretty pissed off about all of this since i was supposed to tank for our 5 man group and i really don’t want to play any other class.

The only solutions i see to this is lowering the xp needed for 1-60 or allowing boosts for the new races as well.

You do realise when TBC originally launched, belf and draenai came with the RELEASE, and not the PREPATCH?

You’re literally crying that you was given 2 weeks extra instead of 0 weeks.

Stop being an entitled little scrub nub.

New races aren’t supposed to be full T3 etc etc before release, they’re a NEW race.

**** me in the *** sally

I fail to see what anything i’ve written has to do with being an “entitled little scrub nub”

Nowhere did i say anything about having T3, my issue is hitting at least level 58 not to mention having proffs at 300 whilst having a life (you probably don’t know much about this)

If they would have said no new races in the prepatch like it was at first it would have sucked but i would have understood. As it stands it just forces you to play like a maniac.

You need to understand that this is not original TBC. So what things are “supposed” to be is something totaly different today.
We were promised an early pre patch release, and the majority of people is disappointed how short time they got to level up.
And it got nothing to do with being “entitled”

2 weeks is plenty of time

Not whilst working 8-9 hours on weekdays it ain’t.
I’m sure a lot of people will get it done but for the average player it’s borderline impossible

You can get to 60 in less than 48 hours /played if you’re getting boosted by a mage

Just because you have poor planning doesn’t mean it’s impossible

Not everyone want to pay for a boost. And some people want to level the regular way by questing and dungeons.

u can’t whine about not having time if u choose the least time effective way to level

i’d argue the regular way to level nowadays is to be boosted. Only new players, bots and botlike players choose grinding

Since you were supposed to tank for your 5 man group in TBC, can’t you ask your teammates to give you a little boost during prepatch to be able to ding 58 on time? That’s how we did things back in the day, you know, helping friends and such. I fail to see how is it not possible nowdays?

If you guys dont know How blizz working.

So playing the game the way it’s ment to be played is “botlike grinding”. Got it

Quit Classic a month after i hit 60 so not really full of gold, the only option left is to rely on my friends.

Still it would be nice to know what’s blizz’s take on this and which version of the old world we’re getting

I’m playing wow since 2007. As I know many of us…Classic players are here because of sentiment. Now we have kids, families, work and alot stuff around to deal. Many of us are just casual players that enjoy WoW from times when it had some fascinating content. I know that originally TBC didnt had any prepatch things but this year blizzcon devs informed us that we will have time to level up and enjoy Outland with our 60 lvl friends…together. Two weeks is enough…for someone that spend 6hrs/day in front of PC…and many of us - “old” ones - dont have that amount of time. Two weeks is imo way too short…like one month would be good.

I’m abit disapointed about that short prepatch time but this is just my feeling. Still hyped at TBC Classic <3

Just level to 60 noob QQ.

Damn OP you’re thread brought out all the Classic Andy’s out of their bedrooms .

All i can say is there is no rush , to hit 58 , get there when you get there. Every party and raid team will be happy to have a prot pally with them.

Btw these are the same Classic Andy’s who demanded no changes and now the one’s who want changes and think buying a boost is okay. So i wouldn’t pay attention to those hypocrites.

With the changes to XP and questing you can probably hit 58 in 3~ days /played if you are reasonably efficient. Especially if you have some friends on hand to help out who have nothing much else to do until TBC actually launches. Mage boosting is the most efficient - but I think any level 60 can blast you through lowbie dungeons to give some XP/quests/gear that will then facilitate single player levelling. (I.E. how we did it back in the day before it became commercialised.)

Is that obsessive over 2 weeks? Probably. But its not impossible even with a reasonably significant job. 4 hours a day in the week day evenings, 8 hours a day in the weekend.

Unless you are planning on levelling in TBC by just dungeon grinding over and over again (in which case I feel claims of having a life ring hollow) I’m not sure being a day or two late will matter that much. Again, friends a bit higher can help you efficiently blast through all the elite quests in Hellfire etc for some quick XP to catch up.

This is what i’m looking for. As far as i remember , XP changes did not happen in 2.0 but in 2.2 or 2.3. Do we know for certain that the prepatch will lower the xp needed for 60?

LE: found it , it was 2.3:

Leveling improvements

Many leveling improvements have been made for the old world.

  • The amount of experience needed to gain a level has been decreased between levels 20 and 60. In addition, the amount of experience granted by quests has been increased between levels 30 and 60.
  • Level 1-60 dungeon quests have had their experience and faction rewards increased.
  • Many elite creatures and quests in the level 1-60 experience have been changed to accommodate solo play.

We don’t know much about the prepatch at all afaik. We know that Draenei, Blood elves and jewelcrafting will be available, and the lvl 58 boost for old races.

That’s fine, but then you’re just going to have to accept that you’ll either have to play a lot, or not be 60 on your shaman/paladin by the time TBC releases

Compromise is part of life

That’s not true. I’m an old player with lots of alts, still I level thorugh quests and exploring. not many dungeons and no boosting. It’s just not fun.
