Blizzard needs to find a serious solution when the dungeon deserter should be applied.
For example today I was doing a dungeon with a tank that didnt know where to go.
As a gleader the only words i said were “Follow me”
I got kicked after 30seconds
The tank kicked me with the excuse of me being AFK
It’s an unnecessary evil courtesy of all the tanks and healers that abused prior holding the party hostage asking to be kicked if they didn’t like the dungeon, back then deserter debuff only occured when you left in the first 15 minutes. Getting kicked circumvented that.
Personally I find getting kicked for no reason to be pretty rare. As such I got an elegant solution;
First kick gives a warning debuff for 30 minutes [preferably one where other players can’t see it], you can join another LFG/LFR with it. Getting kicked again with that debuff will result in the deserter debuff preventing you to join for the next 30 minutes.
Well as a common courtsey you should ask people first if they need help . So it depends if the tank asked for help

I’ve never had a issue with the dungeon deserter debuff before but yesterday i farming black rock depths raid for anniversary tokens… I joined a LFR imperial seat with just the last boss left. Rejoined rhe queue to get the first boss and mini boss guy and left. Gave me dungeon deserter 
Not the end of the world but it did seem unfair as im pretty sure i would get no rewards for doing the last boss again
Ive been kicked once in my life and i deserved it.
Im deeply sceptical of these stories. All i said was ‘follow me’ and i got kicked is usually ‘omg tank are u a ******, follow me you *******’ and i got kicked!!! So confused.
Of couse its also possible youre the worlds unluckiest dps and just happen to run into kick happy people 24/7…
Oh ok so next time someone doesn’t soak Ulgrax’s pull for example, i should ask him if he woke up good today and if he does need help. If he replies no, we should continue wiping until he is ready
They should rename the game to World of Snowflakecraft.
The op assumed the tank didnot knew the way .says follow me and probably runs towards wrong side of dungeon without consulting the tank and the rest of the team .so you see why he got kicked ?
If that wasnt the case op would had initiated the kick and the tank would had been kicked out .
With such stories it is mostly the guy who makes thread here who was at fault but would try to show it otherwise .

I just got kicked out. Dunno why. It was one of my alts, levelling up. Good damage. I know the BC dungeons very well. No clue what happened.
What annoys me is that the Dungeon Deserter thingy was put on me. I didn’t leave the instance. So not only I was kicked out of the dungeon, I also must wait before I can continue levelling. That’s not really fair, IMO.
May I suggest you say “would you like me to lead the way?” next time.
I know it’s more words but it is less likely to come accross as demanding.
