So far I have only played sub rogue in SL, in raids and in M+. I got KSM before all the dungeons nerfs and a few weeks ago I started losing interest in pushing keys as sub rogue…
I got a 1h weapon for outlaw in the great vault today and decided to craft the celerity legendary. I spent a few hours messing around in some M+ and then in Castle Nathria.
In most cases I was doing the same or even more dps than when I played sub… and it feels fkn stupid. I have dedicated so much time into sub rogue and now I outdps my main specc as outlaw after a few hours of practice?
I don’t get what blizzard is doing in regards to rogue specc balance… because this experience felt really bad. You shouldn’t just be able to pick up a new specc and pretty much face roll the keyboard and do more damage than when you play a specc that you are actually good at. I will probably keep testing outlaw now as I realized it is far superior than sub.
I don’t get why it’s so hard for such a big company to get this game proper, especially when you pay a monthly subscription that costs more than HBO or Netflix. At least they don’t release unfinished movies. Blizzard are wasting too much time on these systems and keep ruining classes/speccs over and over -.-
Yeah man. Balance have never been perfect, but it is at its worst in SL. I think it’s the brain drain, and corona impact.
This. Yes. So many times yes. For next xpack, blizz needs to create classes that are whole and complete on their own, and spend all other time on story, content, dungeons, raids, extra activities. No one gives a s*** that we conduits, soulbinds, etc. I could even do without cov abilities.
The sad thing is that Outlaw is not even that good compared to other classes. Sub is just even worse.
I’m gearing my DK now as I will probably switch main once we have the valor gearing. I’m expecting DK to be far superior to Rogue for the rest of the expansion. Even if the Rogue did more damage (which it doesn’t), the DK will still be much more wanted for raiding because of utility, burst damage and execute damage.
The difference between Rogue and DK is not because of tuning or specific fights. It’s general. Therefore I don’t see it changing for the rest of the expansion.
It’s upsetting that I preferred Combat to Outlaw, considering Outlaw is a newer version of the spec I used to play. Being able to say ‘I’m a master of axes (swords, maces, daggers, etc)’ was fun. As a returning player, I feel increasingly frustrated every day I play this class, as it feels unbalanced, and my character no longer feels like a ‘specialised master’. It’s bizarre that as a concept of a pure DPS class, Rogues have been given so few options to choose from, with even less choices for ‘competitive’ play. I often find myself returning to Assassination just because the play style doesn’t have a lottery attached to it.
I actually feel like I ‘waste’ a DPS slot in our raid simply because I bring nothing else of value apart from my DPS, and other classes capable of DPS often reach a higher damage detail than me simply because they have a ‘complete’ class with more care and detail placed in to it.
I’m not claiming I know how to fix Rogue, that’s beyond my understanding-- but I do know that it feels bad to play, and when I compare my character to other characters of the same nature (DPS), my character seems like a lesser choice. Who knows, perhaps I’m doing something wrong-- but I feel like if I was doing something wrong, it should be made more obvious, perhaps.
