I’d love for more animations opened up for players, more niche armor like belt pouches instead of a belt, the backpack instead of cloak (ik we get more of this in Slands).
Oh and also, please, loosen the mog restrictions just abit.

yes and i love it to bits, it’s fantastic in how sassy it is.

Different animation sets for types of behavior for instance?

Among others yes, would open a whole lot more for the RP community instead of the generic idle while ICly you might be leaning against a wall etc.

That’s a good one! I’d love for some of those animations to become emotes, with a more clear indication that they’re there.

I think it’s great on an OOC level (or if you want to play a sarcastic character), though it’s not the best when you’re trying to take something seriously.

Switchable on the go would be a good solution to that.

/salute and /militarysalute is literally all it would take.

My first MMO was City of Heroes, and, even though it’s technically a dead game, it STILL puts WoW to shame in how many options it had for costumes and for emotes. Such a shame…

Yeah, more choice would just the best thing at the end of the day.

I don’t mind the blood elf animations that much. The salute is… peculiar, but there’s a part of me that likes it. Cannot say the same for the night elf female /nod or /clap.

Only thing I’d change about Male Night Elf is their vasting animation.

Its like they’re trying to focus their headache onto someone else… Otherwise i’m pretty cool with their animations!

Pretty sure /cheers is awful too. Whichever one they used for ‘level up’ or w/e on the Order Halls/Mission Table stuff. Egh…

So like the personality system in ESO.

Personalities in ESO alter your character’s idle / run / walk animations, as well as altering specific emotes depending on the personality in question.

The Duchess personality makes your /preen emote pull out a hand mirror and you start 'miring yourself, another one has you turn around as if in front of a mirror and checking out how your clothes sit on you.

The Explorer(?) personality gives your character a permanent torch in hand (as opposed to the /torch which only works when stationary), and it makes one of your emotes have you kneel down and dust the ground before you searching for treasure. Your /letter emote (equivalent to /read in WoW) has you pull out a map in one hand and use the torch’s light to illuminate it.

Naryu’s personality is the best, but I’m starting to dislike how people use it despite it not fitting their character’s actual IC personality what so ever, but it looks cool. No, you’re not sassy - you’re just trying too hard. Even a dead pigeon has more personality. Thank god it was limited time only.

I would love a system like that!

The realistic problem is that in WoW you have a large set of different skeletons + animations whereas in ESO everyone uses the same generic set of animations by default, so it’s a lot easier to add a scoundrel modifier to 3 animations + idle anims.

And while new animations are made for all models, this would mean several sets of animations would have to be made for up to …20+ models now?

As of MoP (or WoD?), every race uses the same skeleton because they streamlined it to incorporate monk animations. Racial animations now revolve on the same basis as the personality system in ESO in that they’re given a template (race/gender/class) and they use the animations of that template for everything.

The new class animations also work on this same principle. It’s why they look a little clunky on some races because they weren’t individually designed for each race in mind, but they just reuse the same class animation template.

They streamlined it so much that Vulpera and Kul Tiran females don’t even have auto attack animations on their own, that imo is just lazy, (And the reason why I opened this thread : / )

they won’t release the forsaken gas mask that’s been around for several expacs as a proper tmog.
