[A(N)-RP] The moon will rise on sunday 7 july

Hey!

So, next sunday is the first sunday of the moonth.
(See what I did there?)
Well, since I am an administratively inhibited person, I don’t arrange events or so…
But the moonrise seems to happen anyway!

The moon rises at 21:00 hours CET så people usually drop in at around 20-ish and forward.
I typed A(N)-RP because we actually had a horde Panda joining us one month, (so cool), so bring some elixirs of tongues.
Oh, and if you’re horde, be careful. If they see you, they shoot…

It’s really great if someone would like to say a few words at these events and we’ve had some great speakers.
Are you going as a nightelf priest/druid/toastmaster who feels confident about saying a few words?
Pop a post here so we’ll know to expect you!

The place is, as usual since the fire, the little clearing just outside the wall of Stormwind, overlooking Lions Rest.
Don’t go too close to the edge of the hill, cause there’s this weird magic thing that makes you phase out…

Anyway, hope to see you there!
No weapons!

Sunday 7 July, from around 8pm-ish to 10pm-ish server time, just outside the Stormwind walls.

Wow, it’s already been a month…

This time I am definitely bringing the Crusader. Which is going to be a tad wonky because we have a guild meeting on the same day, but hey–with some double-account shenanigans I might just be able to attend both. :clinking_glasses:

As was mentioned above, we have had some fine speakers in the past. I am sure an eloquent night elf will be present. :slightly_smiling_face:

On the off chance that such is not the case, I could say a few less gracious words, or an associate of mine could.

I will be there and can prepare another prayer. If someone else does want to speak, feel free. I’d rather just be the back up anyway.

Sweet! =D

The Silly one shall once again be in attendance. Looking much forward to seeing you lot again.

Are non-Nelves welcome at these events? I have heard about them, but never attended. I am absolutely moontooth friendly.

I shan’t presume the Kal’dorei’s response, nor claim jurisdiction in the matter, but no elf I know would mind your presence, Helstrøm

I can’t quite remember if we’ve had dwarves at these in my short time attending, but we’ve had Ren’dorei (well, almost, at least:) , Draenei, human, worgen… That come to mind, maybe others as well.

So I think you’d be welcome

Since the Kal’dorei are generally quite spiritual and nature-loving, I suspect unnatural, oppositional characters like death knights might be stretching it, though.

(Not that I don’t think it might provide highly interesting RP, but we don’t want the event to become a… hot-tempered… scene?)
If some of the attendees happened to be vehemently opposed to, say, death knights
(which wouldn’t be strange, considering the night elves’ reverence of nature - wherein the artificially undead have no place).

Sorry, unnecessarily long post when my third and shortest paragraph sums it up just fine. Not sure why the death knights crept into my head… Well, perhaps there is a reason  :skull: :crossed_swords:

Everyone is welcome!

We are refugees now, taken in as guests by the people of Stormwind and only able to keep doing our ceremony thanks to their hospitality.
There’s a lesson in that, so we will not turn anyone away.

All we ask is that you don’t bring your weapons along.

It is open to any and all who wish to thank Elune or learn about our culture. All we ask is no weapons.

If you are Horde player visiting, I suggest not bringing up Sylvanas either lest you be quickly escorted to the Stormwind Guard.

On an unrelated note. The forum updates the icon almost immediately but is still 2 levels behind on this character despite me having been 107 for at least a few months now … o_O (hit 108 last night unintentionally)

Indeed as the fellow sisters have said, traditionally everyone are welcome. On the evenings of Moon’s Rise, we strive our utmost to put our differences and personal opinions aside and come together under one purpose. It may be difficult at times, subjects or attending people stretching the limits, but as long as they show proper respects towards the evening, they must also be shown the same respect of letting them attend.

I have actually heard Horde members mention Sylvanas quite unflatteringly. It seemed as if they had taken a page out of Genn Greymane’s book on hating the banshee queen.

Thank you for taking initiative, Kitten! :crescent_moon:

That may be so, but it’s still disrespectful to, at an event for a refugee community, bring up the person who caused their situation.

I did not consider that.

Due to recent encounters, I find myself increasingly wondering about night elf traditions. Since so many have left Kalimdor, I have found myself increasingly in their presence. I have even noticed an increased presence at The Forge, although they commonly come heavily armed.
I am happy to hear such positive responses to my earlier question and I now feel confident I will be welcome. I hope that tomorrow’s event will shed some new moonlight on night elven culture!

P. S.
If I remwmber correctly, warmode needs to be off, to avoid weird phasing or something… There is a good chance that I do not remember correctly, though…

And noooow she rises. Around 21:30.
I am mostly making this note so I won’t lure people over too soon next time.
It’s been a cozy hour though. Now Cherwina is holding a prayer.
She’s so good at that!

Thanks to my dear Kitten for this opportunity. It was long overdue, that I attended one of these. I thought I would be a lone dwarf in a sea of elves, watching from afar. Who knew they would be so generous to make many others part of this beautiful ritual?

Thank you for hosting the event! Unfortunately I had to bolt early due to a surprise RL visit from relatives so I couldn’t stay as long as I wanted to, but both Lara and I sure had a nice time.

He will be back next month for sure! It’s good for him to have a place where he can feel like a proper Quel’dorei and spend some time with a faction he actually identifies with…
