[A-PvE] <The Guild> Casual but Effective Raiding

The Guild – A Casual but Effective Raiding Guild

Friendship – Teamwork – Progress

We are a group of long-term friends (and family) that met through years of World of Warcraft and now returned to relive the nostalgic days of classic. We all love the social aspect of the game as well as the challenges (and the grind) that it provides which it seems to have lost in the more recent expansions.

With that in mind, we are looking for more likeminded players to hang out with and once again head into Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, Ahn’Quiraj and Naxxramas. We aim to see and complete the content that we may have missed last time round while making new friendships and enjoying all aspects of the game.

While we are eager to finish all the content and driven to be the best we can be, we do have lives, hobbies and responsibilities outside of the game which is why our vision is to create a casual but effective raiding atmosphere where raiding feels less like a job and more like a fun way to enjoy a couple of evenings a week – which should be more than enough if people are fresh, prepared and excited for raids.

What we Expect from You

Dedication - Do your best and continuously improve. We are a team and as such, we expect each member to contribute. We will of course help by making sure sufficient information is provided, all relevant questions can be answered and players are assisted in achieving their goals.

Be punctual and reliable – Turning up late or inconsistently will not be tolerated unless there is a good reason behind it – We do not raid extensively but in order for this to work, we require people to make good use of the time that we do dedicate to it.

Be prepared – Being on time means being ready with potions, flasks, food, arrows, whatever it is you need on that given day so that raiding schedule is not delayed by players scrambling to get last minute things done. Our promise to you is to finish on time, so long as your promise to us is to start on time.

Persevere – There are bound to be walls to smash through and challenges to overcome and we expect you to understand and appreciate this. We are looking for people who enjoy the challenge and are happy to dedicate their time and efforts towards it.

Be respectful – No offensive or immature language or behaviour will be tolerated.

Engage – Answer, help, get involved with the community – both within the guild and elsewhere. You represent The Guild wherever you go and as such, we expect our members to demonstrate our core values and beliefs and generally portray the guild in a good light.

What We can Offer

A friendly atmosphere – Everyone is welcomed and treated like family. We help each other, advise, laugh, joke and enjoy the game together. Some of us know each other outside of the game as we have previously organised guild meets and may do so in future as well. We believe it is a great way to connect, get to know other cultures, perhaps see some of Europe and socialise away from our computer screens.

Efficient but casual raiding schedule – Quality, not quantity. We aim to raid 2-3 times a week with efficiency, freeing up the rest of your evenings. There will of course be other guild activities on those evenings if people are interested.

Approachable leadership – We do not see our leaders as superior to any of our members. Their mission is to make sure everyone feels comfortable, heard and happy within the guild so we will always do our best to assist with any issues, requests or suggestions.

Guild bank – While guild banks do not currently officially exist, we do have a guild bank steward which holds shinies for those in need. We cannot guarantee and do not expect you to profit from this, however we will always assist, if it makes sense to do so – with respec money, gear, materials and recipes.

Guild Discord – Required for raiding but available for all other activities to guild members and their friends at any time.

Raiding and Social Ranks

We expect to have a reliable core group of people who turn up on time, perform at their best, stick together and support each other in order to achieve steady progress. While progress is important, we believe that player (member) satisfaction is not only a consequence of it but also a requirement for it. Thus, we don’t expect to have the optimal setup for every raid but will rather allow people to play the races, classes and specs that they enjoy playing, as long as they perform to the best of their ability and their performance is comparable to the rest. Of course should players seek guidance on min-maxing(which is encouraged), our leadership (or their peers) should be more than happy to assist.

We understand that raiding is not everyone’s cup of tea so friends will always be welcome to hang out in the guild and engage with the community outside of raids and participate in other guild activities. However it is important to note that people who are not part of the core raiding group are still as much part of the guild as everyone else, meaning all rules still apply and we still expect you to represent our guild’s values and principles.

RP

Most of us are not heavily into RP, however we do enjoy the occasional event and will participate but not organise (you are, of course, welcome to do so yourself). We do find that people on RP server are a lot more relaxed, mature and pleasantly witty and we very much appreciate this aspect of the game, hence the choice of Hydraxian Waterlords as a server.

The Bottom Line

  • We are a friendly, chatty and relaxed group of people.

  • We appreciate good sense of humour.

  • We enjoy a challenge.

  • We aim to perform to the best of our abilities.

  • We respect and support each other and other fellow players.

  • We will aim to raid 2-3 times a week between 7-11pm game time.

If this rings true with you then give us a shout in game @ Neverjetni or @ Cyathea and let’s have a chat.
