Came tonight on Emanuel and found a few diamonds in the rough, good to see such creative output from some of the attendees. I do however feel they were left waiting behind a few "Poems" which were simply copy-pasted from out of game sources, Bertel particularly leading by example (as the host!) with a "Bonnie Prince Billy" song, kind of lame tbh and it does waste time for people actually willing to compose their own stuff.

I did specificly state that this was a poem send to Bertel and not Bertel's own, I changed the name a bit to Billy Oldham, being a mix of Will Oldham who is the man behind Bonnie 'prince' Billy and the name of his project.

I make sure to always use lyrics that are not that well known, and that people will actually be able to look them up on Google from the information Bertel gives.

As well as I make sure the lyrics fits in context with game lore.

In other words I give an opportunity for people to discover new material they might not be aware of.

I simply can't come up with 2 poems every 14 days that would fit Bertel's style of writing, and beside that I personally find my solution quite good, for reasons I stated above:

I give people opportunity for discovering material they most likely would not be aware of otherwise.

Beside the two Bonnie 'prince' Billy lyrics Bertel recited (one at the beginning, one at the end), he actually did recite one of his own poems too, at the very opening of the meeting.

I honestly find it a bit cheap to just come in and criticize an event, when you have not actually put any work in it yourself.

I don't see the problem though, but if you can do a better job, you are welcome to take over all the work that are in promoting and hosting these events.

If it really was a genuine problem like you seem to think, I guess a solution would be to make this event once every 6 month or so, so that Bertel and other regulars will have time to come up with their own original stuff.

I don't see exposing people to outside material that fits the games lore, and are marginal in the sense of amount people being aware of it in the first place, a problem though.

Now, beside the rant over the ranting, I want to thank anyone who showed up and made this event a fun and great experience.
