I have a Goblin who I’ve played over on Horde side for a few years now. Is it possible for me to join this guild?

I have the same issue, Lukas has been my main for the last 3 and a half years but I still get referred to by a character I stopped playing about… nearly 7 years ago?

It’s a weird people thing, probably people who have severe issues moving on from the past.

In my experience there is a trend against law-book rp, as it is quite stifling for players who have no idea about said book. Common sense really should dictate law-enforcement and criminal rp, however too many cases simply show it as a means of dominating one side for some sort of power fetish.

If you’re representing SI:7 anyway I don’t think you necessarily need to follow the law anyway, since your primary objective is the protection of the King, the Kingdom and the Alliance in that order.
Morals aren’t really a thing to get in the way of spy agencies historically in this world - why in Azeroth?

To jump on Lukas’ point, why would SI:7 really bother with looking at lawbooks anyways? I doubt they’re out and about doing the job of a guard, busting the average pickpocket.

I see the SI:7 as taking heavy inspiration of James Bond. Smart, courteous and ruthless. They strike swiftly and make sure the job is done, without question. Above all else a sense of anonymity is key as in truth they are the King’s most officiant Espionage group.

What I do not see the SI:7 as being are incompetent nitwits that chase after people in Stormwind like thugs or a guard force. Furthermore it gets worse when they are literally running around screaming I’m SI:7, and are completely blowing their covers as they charward toward local gutter runners!

I think the Horde would’ve abducted most of these guys and interroga…-

(Oh wait they don’t accept losing a fight)

Lol

Edit: I think how the SI:7 operate are by their own accord, it’s highly confidential stuff and I doubt they’re gonna be caring about law and morality over their own objective. So yeah I personally agree with my arch nemesis, Lukas.

Ultimately I don’t think the SI:7 wouldn’t operate within Stormwind but then they’d only limit themselves to high-profile threats, say terrorism (cata quests come to mind) or big crime syndicates which is something your average guard regiment probably couldn’t deal with (at least not the in-game npc guards we see, admittedly they don’t go around wielding kalashnikovs and all sorts of spec-ops gadgets)

It’s always tricky to tackle a concept that lacks depth or ingame lore, but even before SI:7 became more and more prominent in the story, I never considered that to be much of a problem as it was clear were Blizzard was drawing the inspiration from. Secret agents are super iconic and it doesn’t take that much imagination to figure out what they’d do and how they’d do it, the vagueness only adds to the fact you can approach the subject with varied interpretations.

I don’t want to sound like some sort of rp snob or expert on the matter, but I always tried to approach this particular roleplay avenue with care, as I loved the aforementioned James Bond movies/novels or similar spy-themed works since I was a kid. My start was a bit bumpy too, but eventually I figured out what I wanted to bring to the scene and I’d like to think that for the most part, people enjoyed interacting with this character. I think the problem that I’ve seen so often is that most people who roll an SI:7 character think they should be roleplaying super-cops and that they should ally themselves with the most relevant guard guild at the time. If you ask me, that’s a huge waste of potential the concept offers and I’ve made my own attempts to show people that there’s more to it, with more or less success, something that I’d like to resume in the nearest future.

I know you’re probably going to ignore my post again Lysandre, but if you’ll ever feel like you want to talk about setting your roleplay in a diffrent, potentially better direction, I think you still have my discord. Don’t recreate your guild thread over and over, then put on your sarcastic, unfunny attitude when people call out your antics. You seem like you want to be a part of this community, so stop trying to brute force your way in while covered in feces left over from the roleplay you so stubbornly refuse to improve on.

I sincerely apologize for the snarky comments that I have posted earlier in this post, I have no excuse for it. I’m tired of arguing and debating on the forums posts (and I reckon you are too).

If you want a debate on how the guild is run and want a debate or argument, let us take it in private. I do respect the responses on this post, and I do admit that I might have acted as an idiot towards some of you people in the past, and for that I do apologize. I do not ask for you to accept my apology, but if you wish, I would like to have a mature conversation with those who truly are against our guild, and perhaps work out a way to bury the hatchets.

We do appreciate any constructive critique you might have for improvement of this guild.
