Who are we?

Stormwind Infantry is a long standing military guild, aiming to capture a footman’s lifestyle in the high fantasy Warcraft universe. We are the down-trodden and the faceless, the rank and file of His Majesties’ forces.

Our role-play experience will see your character taken through recruitment, training and operational deployment in to storylines like no other!

Hold the line, or die trying!

A decade of war:

The ranks of the bloodied Fighting Sixth, as the battalion had come to be nicknamed, were founded a decade ago. Every year, without fail, the Fighting Sixth has called upon Dragon Company to do its duty to the kingdom.

From holding ground in the Southern Barrens against an advancing Orcish onslaught, to besieging the city of the undead in the cold, harsh unforgiving northlands.

It has done so with a myriad of characters under the banner, each with their own story worth a book of their own. Friendships forged in the fiery crucibles of combat, well forged during the hardships of training and in the mess halls of garrisons.

You need not simply take these words for it, how-ever, take the time to visit upon the expansive list of our videos to enjoy just exactly what a journey we’ve been on.

To show but a few of our campaigns and deployments! It is also highly recommended to view the 5-part ‘AD Shorts’ mini series to get an insight in to just what the process is like in the guild;

Think you like what you see? Then be sure to take a look at our website for further information!

We welcome interaction in-character, be that by game mail or characters seeking us out for recruitment.

We are also just as happy to engage with you out-of-character to help answer any questions you might have.

Fantastic military RP experience. I would completely recommend this to anyone wanting to get involved in footman-style Roleplay. Had a blast so far!

Veteran Kheldar O’Neil, a scarred and seasoned soldier that has been in the thick of it since the founding year, the Swords Regiment… Man, over a decade of war, really… has it been so long? Apparently so!

I find it a bit hard to add something I haven’t mentioned in previous threads already, but maybe I can bring something new to the table? Many of our members already know that my hair is changing colour by now, they know that I have been around for a long time together with Arthedun on this epic adventure, and I’m so ready to keep on going. It’s addictive to be a part of this community, in a good way of course!

Military role-play, anything you are interested in? Well, then I must say that the Stormwind Infantry will be the right platform for you to experience just that. The opportunities you will have to progress your character and your story is quite a journey, very impressive. There is so much you can do! There is nothing false behind that statement, I know it for a fact.

One of the best things I know is to see how your character will start from nothing. To start off as a Recruit, go through basic training and finally earn your stripes as a Swordsman/Rifleman and beyond. Just to reach that milestone is quite an achievement and experience in itself. We have 11 training modules for you all to go through and pass before you will earn the two ranks I just mentioned, depending on the role you want to take. 11 modules divided in three phases… Green Phase, Blue Phase and finally the Gold Phase.

After those 11 phases it all begins, the time and effort you have put into training will now pay off, and from here it’s very hard for you to let go, at least for me and hopefully for the rest of you as well. Quite a ride, and something I hope you will remember for a long time.

Our own story-line for the Infantry as a unit is something I really enjoy too, a story that always evovle and adjust to the actual game. Some epic stuff is going on currently, can’t wait for the next chapter, what will happen? Exciting!

I can keep on going, but the best thing you can do is to try it out for yourself. I can’t spoil too much (well, I can but there is no fun in that). If military role-play is something that you really like, please give the Stormwind Infantry a try.

There is a reason why I’m still here, and I really hope that you will be able to experience this as well.

I love our community in the guild also, our Officer-Team is doing a great job, I wouldn’t be here without them. The same goes for our members I have been playing with for many years.

Come by the City Hall in Stormwind during our recruitment sessions or come by the Westbrook Garrison if you want to know more. If you have questions about the Stormwind Infantry, just ask and I will do my best to answer them together with the rest of us!

For the Alliance, for the King!

Recruitment is officially concluding within city limits this evening!

A large marching column of armoured blue personnel will be headed out toward a training grounds in Westbrook. It will still be possible to enlist for a certain duration during training, but the further in we get - the more your character has to catch up on!

Don’t delay, enlist today!

Been in this community for some months now. And I cannot lie but it just gets better. The events are always enjoyable and I’ve made so many friends in my time there. The Commander knows what he’s doing so it’s realistic for sure! Was so pleased when my character got his promotion to Swordsman. I would definately recommend signing up! <3

Westbrook Garrison - Day 02 - Training Extract:

The shock of capture…

Reveille - a loud trumpet played from the ramparts of Westbrook Garrison to rouse the troops from their sleep.

This was relative tranquility in comparison to the NCOs which followed, who in their subsequent bunks, were already awake and encouraging soldiers down to the river to scrub themselves clean from the night’s sweat. “Get your drying rags, your boots, trousers and shirts on! Do NOT forget that weapon, or you WILL regret it!” the bellowing continued.

Sitting down at Westbrook’s mess hall, bowls of porridge were served at every table. No syrup, no sugar, just oats and optional raisins. Jugs of water littered the counter-tops. The clinking and clattering of cutlery filled the mess hall, idle chatter was not frequent, time was of the essence and as soon as one man finished, he was up to change in to PT gear.

A quick shuffling of boots ran down Elwynn’s road across the stone bridge in to Westfall, a squadded run. The heavy armoured leg plates and issued boots were being worn in by the greenhorns, their swords by their side or rifles on their backs. “Pick up the slack, do NOT fall behind! Keep those heads up!” the banner of the Swords Regiment was carried aloft as the run continued through Westfall.

No rest for the wicked… the regime pushed soldiers from one activity to the next, and no sooner had they returned from their runs, they were dipped in the river for another scrub, then fighting for space in their bunks as they dressed to full uniform. The stress on the mind, always thinking about the next timing, was always apparent. Every uniform had to be checked over by another soldier, “Is the strap dangling? I don’t want the Corporals to catch me out, for Light’s sake!” a soldier complained.

Gathered outside on the sun-dried Elwynn grass, the Sergeant Major was pacing a rut in to some mud. “…and if you turn to page 12, you will see historic examples of battle ranks in the Southern Barrens, turning the tide against the undisciplined charge of a rabble-band of Orc. Now then…” the lecture continued, not only reasoning the benefits of the training they were about to receive… but historic recollections of it saving lives on the battlefield.

The business of soldiering was so constant, so much information to learn, that personal thoughts barely had time to filter through the volume of it all. Any that did find their own solitude, quickly found themselves being harassed by NCOs, with their equipment spot checked.

“What’s this, son? Dirt in the rear sight? If you had a weekend pass, it will be revoked.” proclaimed the angry voice of a certain rifle Corporal, shoving the weapon system back in to the chest of the new recruit.

Shots barked and birds flew, pieces of target and mud near-by flew up in the air as the rifles commenced target practice. A stones throw away, swordsmen found themselves practicing well drilled moves, following every swing of a certain Swords Instructor Veteran. One who always found purpose in duty, and welcomed the distraction with it all - considering the recent loss of her fiancee.

Seasoned soldiers assisted the greenhorns, correcting minor mistakes all along the way. “Light” , a soldier voiced “It’s not even lunch time yet.”

A teaser of the recent role-play that’s been going on in Westbrook Garrison! We are approaching midweek of ‘Blue Phase’ training, and already the company is performing to a much higher standard with its new recruits learning their arses from elbows.

Richard knelt, fixed to the ground, as the shell landed in the midst of E Company. He watched armoured bodies explode into clouds of crimson; lumps of pink flesh clumped around shards of bone whirling across the courtyard. A great pillar of sand, muck, and skin speared upwards, showering the white stone buildings in viscera.

He tried to reach forwards to pull Belle away from the corner. He could not move. Behind him, he could hear O’Malley pulling 2 Section into cover. Beneath the cacophony of artillery, Ebonluck was at his ear, begging him for orders. Still he could not move.

Warrant Officer Matheson woke with a jolt.

Slowly, the image of Highbank’s courtyard melted away into the canvas roof of his tent. As his panicked breathing slowed, he felt a line of cold sweat roll down his forehead. He sat up, slowly, bones creaking. The December cold had been kinder when he was younger; it must have been. Shivering, he peeled himself out of his saturated sleeping bag. He crossed the interior of the small tent on his knees, collecting his arming sword. He pulled back the tent flap.

The Baradin Base Camp was all but silent. Small fires burned in metal barrels scattered throughout; a necessity in the depths of winter where the open sea’s wind chill could freeze a sentry solid. Above, the sky was black. There was no telling what hour it was.

Slowly, the company sergeant major made his rounds.

Welcome back Arthedun, it’s good to see your guild returning to their roots and put the 7th Legion comcept on the shelf.

Keep it up and we’ll probably see one another on the battlefield before long!

If you want high quality, well thought out events where you aren’t stood around waiting for things to happen for hours, this is the place to be. Plus, Arthedun is really really nice :))

Wishing you the best of luck! As an old fart (seven years I believe, still young by SWI standards) it’s not what it was when I first joined, but SWI will always be the standard of military RP to me and where I met many people who I to this date consider friends.

Who knows, yours truly might be showing up on the battlefield in the near future.

Great to see you guys back! Especially with Matheson at your side aswell

The high velocity rounds bit in to the topside of the muddy trench. Infantrymen kept their heads down low, swords at the ready. Those bastards had a 7th Legion chaingun mounted atop the barn! Just who was funding them?!

“Bearing 035! Elevation 120!”

The Combat Engineers were hammering back mortar rounds in response, screaming to be heard over the incoming rounds. Their efforts hastened, desperately attempting to make clear the advance for the ground Infantry.

KA-BOOOOOOM! Bits of barn wood and rubble splintered and shattered in an explosive arc!

Bang on target! An uproar of angry soldiers clambered over the mud-wall and charged through the cornfield. Slaughter went as they advanced. These renegades had been plotting Stromgarde’s downfall since they had arrived, the time for payback was finally at hand.

The enemy, known only as renegades to the Alliance, was yet to be proven linked to any traitor unit to Stromgarde. SI:7 had their suspicions, but nothing concrete yet. It was hoped, that during this attack, more might be discovered.

Alas… the failed recce in earlier nights, provided plenty of warning for the renegades to ship out any evidence or plans they were hiding. All the Infantrymen could do now, was make sure this forward camp was completely destroyed.

When the objectives were finally cleared, all that remained were the spillages, of what had been barrels of plague. The terrifying bio-weapon had to be found, before another Lordaeron was brought about.

But where had they been taken?

Above is an extract of the recent storyline that the fighting troops of Stormwind Infantry have been involved in.

If you want to take part in the continuation of events just like this one? Get yourself online and contact any member of Stormwind Infantry to begin your recruitment process!

We’ve got a lot of great story taking us forwards towards the new patch and expansion, so with plenty to do - what are you waiting for?

Don’t delay, enlist today!

Pretty good guild as far as I know.

Been a part of it for years, engaging storylines where your character’s past is allowed to be incorporated.

DM’d events are hectic and high-octane, my personal preference.
Give it a try and seek out your local enlistment office today !

As the dawn of 2020 approaches, Stormwind Infantry will be recruiting and actively training in preparation to re-deploy to part 2 of our front-line activities. We intend to follow a good deal of missions across and beyond Azeroth, which will see our military RP community entertained all the way up til the next patch if we can manage it!

After a decade of war fighting, we’ve managed to pull together a strong core group of fantastic people. Dependable, friendly and great fun to role-play with. Together we’ve pulled off some fantastic events, and going forwards in to 2020, we will look forwards to doing a whole lot more of just that.

So - if your still reading, have a very happy new year from the Stormwind Infantry community, and I hope your Winter’s Veil was the best it could be!

Here’s to another year of great role-play! For the King!

I’m doing my part!

I joined recently and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had actually read my TRP and engaged my character story. Sadly, that’s actually very rare. Love SWI and am looking forward to future adventures!

And the saga continues… The majority of the troops are currently enjoying the leave now during the holiday season, but for other troops the hard work continues, to bolster our ranks and preparing ourselves for the new year.

Some of the troops was called in a couple of nights ago for a pick-up at the Stockades. A convict is hoping to reduce her prison sentence. The convict will bind herself to the Alliance’s armed forces to repent for previous sins and wrongdoings. Therefore a prisoner detail was arranged, and the prisoner will be taken cared of by the Infantry.

War is one of many duties for a soldier, but that also includes duties like these. Many convicts prefer to be given a second chance as a Penalty Soldier within the Army as well. Rather that then the swing of a rope, I figure?

That is one of all things the Infantry is tasked or involved with. A wide arrange of different duties as a soldier in the Army, and I love it.

Write us a message if you are interested in signing up to the Infantry, or come and find us in game. We are currently located in the barracks at the Embassy grounds in Stormwind if you are interested or want to find out more.

The Company is still on leave over the holidays, but there are always someone of us around usually, and we are happy to help and to answer any questions.

For the King!
